Jonathan Grubb reported a problem in NeighborGoods on October 09, 2009 23:18:
Search should default to my zip code.Search should default to my zip code. It's currently defaulting to "50 miles from [blank]" one some pages, which makes it look like there are not tents to borrow in silverlake. But there ARE tents to borrow in silverlake, I'm gonna borrow one and sleep in it. Go Neighborgoods Go!-

If Tracker is slowing over time it may be that you have a lot of finished stories piling up, which can degrade performance. It could be good to archive your project and start a new one with copies of your current/backlog/icebox stories. I think you can do this by exporting a CSV, deleting the story numbers, deleting finished stories, and re-importing to a new project.
Jonathan Grubb replied on June 02, 2009 00:44 to the question "Multiple Owners Per Story" in Pivotal Labs:
I think the best hacks are:
- Break the story down into chores, and assign each one to an individual.
- Create your user accounts for pairs instead of individuals.
As I understand it, one of the core concepts of XP is individual responsibility for stories (combined with shared responsibility for the whole product) so assigning a story to 2 different people would mean nobody is 100% responsible for it. I'd try to avoid 2 people being 50% responsible; either one person has all responsibility or the pair has all responsibility.

Jonathan Grubb reported a problem in Get Satisfaction on June 01, 2009 16:48:
status.getsatisfaction.com is being indexed by Bing.comThe new Microsoft search engine (and maybe other engines) are indexing the page that shows up during upgrades. Not a huge deal, but it's currently the second result and makes it look like the site is down almost as often as it's up, which we know not to be true. :)

Jonathan Grubb replied on March 10, 2009 21:40 to the question "Dead links vanishing from search engines" in LOUD3R:
Do you mean Loud3r searches or other search engines like Google?
On loud3r pages a dead link should be removed from search results within a day or so. On Google/Yahoo it depends on how often the page is being crawled. Next time the search engine crawls the site it should mark dead links for removal.

Jonathan Grubb replied on February 25, 2009 21:02 to the question "What does the score mean?" in LOUD3R:
Hi Mike.
LOUD3R Scores are based on a bunch of quality and relevancy factors.
The current top story on Decant3r.com has a score of 2880. The breakdown is
Quality: 2618
Community: 96
Buzz: 166
Quality is a number determined by our system based on an analysis of the content, the appearance or relevant topics, the quality of the source as determined by our editors, the inclusion of photos or videos, and a number of other factors.
Community is a number determined by the community's reaction to the story. It may include factors like the number of people who viewed the story, starred the story, shared the story, added comments, etc.
Buzz is based on the growth in popularity of the topics covered in the story. For example, on the day of the Academy Awards the term "Oscar" will be dramatically higher than usual and will get a higher buzz score. Any stories referring to that topic will therefore get a higher score and appear higher on the page.
The relative importance of each factor is determined by the site editors, and will change over time on each site and for each topic.
