I've had it crash when creating a new spot by going back and forth between the various categories ("Hmm, is this a scenic viewpoint, or a historic landmark? Maybe it's a big blue wet thing..."). It's also happened while I've been composing my description, which admittedly can take me a while. What can I say, I'm a bit of a perfectionist :)

I've got the iPhone 3G, if that makes a difference.

You can edit the location of spots you have created from the website. Just find the spot and click the "edit" link.

Just in case anyone hasn't noticed, you can now adjust the location and the radius of a spot from the website.

Searching by city doesn't work

Any time I search for spots by city (from http://gowalla.com/spots), the Google map shows a bunch of markers all in one spot out in the middle of the ocean. It used to work just fine, it just started acting up within the past couple of days.

If you're willing to use data under a cc-by-sa license, you might be able to make use of data from the OpenStreetMap project:
