A comment on the problem "We've heard you -- invite tokens will die!" in AideRSS:
Another invite? What will be different between this one and the original one I received if it does the same thing? Those e-mails should contain the actual token number so it can be pasted in the box if someone has a problem. The whole token system needs to be scrapped. – Rolf Schewe, on April 23, 2008 21:39

This is standard extension installation procedure. I am able to install the extension. The problem is when I navigate to Google Reader and the popup redirects me to the token page. That box is empty and I have no token. I may not need a token, but that page is still asking me for one.
Who knows. This may be incompatibilty with Firefox 3 and/or greasemonkey. – Rolf Schewe, on April 23, 2008 21:38

I think I may know what is confusing some people - on clicking the link from the invite email, you are taken directly to the install link for the extension. Sometimes firefox will ask you (with its little information bar) if you want to allow gr.aiderss.com to install the extension - if that happens you will see the microsite in behind while firefox waits for you to allow it. Once you allow it you must reload (as you do with any other firefox extension).
You don't need an invite code, you don't need another invite, you just have to allow firefox to install the extension.

Oh no. Now I have to wait again!
I signed up to the invite list and got the e-mail invite. Then I installed the extension and the token function doesn't work. The text box is blank and no token number was supplied in the e-mail. If there was one included in the e-mail then I could have entered it manually.
Greasemonkey gave me problems as well and now I can only get the authorization in Google Reader if greasemonkey is installed with the script.
What do I have to do reinstall Firefox now with no extensions? What a mess.

Matt Galligan replied on March 10, 2008 19:24 to the question "Access To Private Photos" in SocialThing:
So we're not asking for access to your private photos. Basically when we authenticate with your Flickr account, we're asking for access to work with things like your friends lists and photos. We also bring in your friends' photos to show you, just like you'd see it at the Flickr site, so sometimes those might be private, sometimes not. But we don't store those images, we just serve up what URLs we get from Flickr.
