@jarhead2000
This does not work ALL THE TIME!
With the iPhone 3G, you should get a pretty accurate reading of your location as compared with the 2G, which uses the Skyhook network (I have my access point registered already). In fact, even with the Skyhook network, Twinkle reports that I am in the 4000m radius instead of 150-200m of Skyhook's accuracy.

I've had the same problem for a while. Running 2.0.1 and 1.1, and every time I get off a plane and tweet, and while I'm able to get "nearby" tweets properly after hitting refresh, my location for posting new tweets says it's the old location. However, closing Twinkle and opening it up again (hitting the home button and tapping the Twinkle icon) goes right back to the "new tweet" window, and forces it to update the Location. So I guess that's the workaround for now! :(

Note that there is a mistake in the guide.(http://iwantsandy.com/help/guide#_nor... ) It should say "I'll skip the reply even if you have email replies turned ON". – kevin1, on July 17, 2008 19:17

There isn't any problem with using @ tags over Twitter.
What happened here is that the "noreply" tag didn't do what you expected. Don't feel bad though, I was thoroughly confused too. So I went and did some investigation on what the "noreply" tag is supposed to do. (http://iwantsandy.com/help/guide#_nor... )
As far as I understand it, the "noreply" tag only applies to replies by *email*. Not to communications over Jott or Twitter. Although the name "noreply" certainly is confusing. The "noreply" turns off the automatic email reply. http://iwantsandy.com/settings/email Sandy doesn't have a setting or a tag to turn off replies to Jott or Twitter. (You can modify the Jott Link at the Jott website to turn off all SMS replies from Sandy to Jott.)
Just to be absolutely sure, can you check the Twitter communication that Sandy received? You can do this either through http://iwantsandy.com/email or by clicking on the new event and then clicking on the "More context" link. This will display the message that Sandy received. Does the message contain the text "@noreply"?
Aashay asked a question in I want Sandy on July 16, 2008 23:51:
Can't use @ tags with twitter :(I just sent out the following via twitter: d s remind me to do laundry tonight at 10pm @noreply
I think Twitter picked this up as "noreply" being a Twitter user, because a few minutes later Sandy said "I got #60: Do Laundry (Wed, 7/16/2008 10:00pm)
I guess this isn't really Sandy's problem...but how are we supposed to use tags via twitter?
norbiq replied on July 10, 2008 10:34 to the question "Done to-do's gone forever?" in I want Sandy:
No, Sandy does not delete any completed @todo's, unless you specifically tell her to forget (remove) particular item(s). Have you tried clicking on the 'done' tag in the right panel?! See if you can find your lost done @todo's this way.
By the way, I think I found some inconsistency with the option Show/hide done to-dos and 'done' tag (in the right panel). If the 'done' tag is selected, clicking Hide done to-dos does not actually hide them.

Yeah, I'd definitely be jumping ship if I saw ads all over the website, or if Sandy got spammy with them. Subtle's the way to go! – Aashay, on July 10, 2008 05:31

That makes sense, but the question wasn't how *could* they make money, it was how *do* they make money? – sexyhalibut, on July 10, 2008 02:57
