Though I understand what you're saying, Amir, that's like saying < i > and < strong > should appear on webpages so that other users know how to code HTML.
If users are uncertain how they can format their Plurks, then the correct thing to do would be to determine how best to get this information to them. As it stands now, finding this information seems a bit of a chore...
I know I originally found it by searching "plurk formatting" in Google, and ended up on a page not even part of the Plurk domain. This info does not come up in the Start Guide, nor in the FAQ. Couldn't find it in the Wiki either...
Users can learn, users can ask. Have the information readily available, and it becomes unnecessary to keep the formatting characters as part of a Plurk.
My two cents. :)-

It bothered me a lot too.
I opted to turn off the Facebook updates from Plurk, and now I use Ping.fm instead when I want to post to multiple places. I can send messages to Plurk, Twitter and Facebook all at the same time!
Sorry Plurk. Don't mean to undermine what you tried to do with the Facebook connection. But I agree, the links make a mess of status updates in Facebook.

This is a brilliant idea! It would be great if, in the privacy settings, you had the ability to auto-mute responses for given timelines. That way you'd see the Plurks, and after having read them, they wouldn't bother you again.
AND, if there was a given Plurk that you ended up wanting to follow the responses on, you could unmute it manually. AND, if you chose to post a response in a given Plurk, then that Plurk would unmute itself automatically too so you could follow the conversation that you chose to participate in.
How's that sound? Plausible?-

Colin R. replied on January 25, 2009 01:03 to the problem "How come I don't show up in Plurk's search results?" in Plurk:
I concur with Aaron and Kathy on this one. I've tried searching for myself and friends using details I know are already our profiles, and nothing's showing up. Though I can't speak for my friends, I know that I'm set to be visible to the world in searches under my privacy settings.
Is this intentional? Because I agree that it doesn't really make sense. One should be able to find ANYone through the search, provided they are searchable.-

Colin R. reported a problem in Plurk on January 23, 2009 07:16:
Activation Code Not Reaching Mobile PhoneI can't seem to receive an activation code via SMS. Plurk is reporting that the activation code has been sent, but it never arrives at my phone.
Any idea why this might be? My phone number is with Bell Canada.
Thanks for any help!
