Anthony replied on October 14, 2008 16:53 to the question "I have more than 5 cars. How do I get them listed on CarCast?" in CarCast:
If you already send your cars to other websites, such as eBay, Motors.co.uk, Fish4, Exchange and Mart or Auto Trader, there's a good chance that you or the company you use to manage your used car stock is sending a feed of cars to these websites.
Put simply, a feed contains all the details of the cars that you have in stock, listed in a format that our servers can understand. All you need to do is get your chosen company to add us to their list, so that they can feed your stock to us.
Some companies will do this as part of a free, added-value service or other package that you have signed up for. If you use AutoExposure, AutoLocate or Experian Automotive, there's a good chance that your cars are already listed on CarCast. If you can't find them, get in touch with us and we'll do our best to get you listed.
Other companies, such as 2nd Byte, Motortrak and Portfolio may make a weekly or monthly charge to send your vehicles to CarCast, but we are successfully receiving data feeds from some UK dealerships from these companies.
In any case, if you'd like to learn more about the services we offer to dealers, dealer groups and car supermarkets, take a look at our dealer services page or get in touch with us.
Anthony asked a question in CarCast on October 14, 2008 16:47:
I have more than 5 cars. How do I get them listed on CarCast? You can list as many cars as you like on CarCast using our Vehicle Management tools. But if you have a lot of cars in stock, you may find that listing them all manually is quite laborious.
Not only that, it can take a lot of time to manage your stock in more than one place. How can CarCast help you get your stock listed, if you've already got your cars advertised elsewhere?

You could bookmark this page and return to it as many times as you like, but our website has been designed to take advantage of RSS feeds, so that any search you undertake will be available as a CarCast: an RSS feed containing details of your vehicle.
Simply subscribe to a CarCast using your favourite RSS aggregator or news reader (we have a list of available news readers) at any time you like, and the feed will be kept up to date, meaning you'll find out as soon as a vehicle comes into stock.
We don't offer a car search results by email service at this time.
Anthony asked a question in CarCast on October 13, 2008 13:21:
You don't have any [Make] [Model]s in stock at the moment - how can I sign up to be notified when you do?One of the most common requests we receive at CarCast is to notify people when a car comes into stock that matches your stock. For instance, this search for any Volkswagen Scirocco up to £25,000 in price may not return any results you are looking for.
So, how can you sign up to be notified? Does CarCast offer a Cars by Email service?

Ask questions, request a feature, report a bug, or talk about anything CarCast related! At CarCast, we use GetSatisfaction for our help, frequently asked questions, bug reporting and feature requests. If you have any questions, or would like to talk to us about features on CarCast, we'd love to hear from you.
Anthony Williams reported a problem in Get Satisfaction on October 13, 2008 11:40:
Overheard won't allow me to remove a keyword. The Overheard feature is great, but one of the problems we've got is that, because the name for our organisation is very short (.Cast), Overheard is picking out pretty much every tweet containing the word Cast.
I've tried to change the words that Overheard is looking out for, but it appears that it won't allow me to remove the word Cast because it's used in the company name.
Can we remove Cast from our Overheard list?
Anthony Williams replied on October 13, 2008 11:27 to the idea "Private Get Satisfaction" in Get Satisfaction:
Perhaps it would be an idea to have different types of 'conversations' - you can choose to have a public conversation or a private conversation.
By default - and without choice at the moment - all of the conversations on Get Satisfaction are public. The transparency issue is an important one, so perhaps my proposal would help this:
You can start a private conversation and it can remain private for all time. At a point in the future, you can decide - when a product comes out of private beta, or an NDA is lifted - to make private conversations public.
However, once a conversation is public - either because it was public to start with, or was made public via the process outlined above - it can never be made private again. This would ensure that openness and transparency is maintained.-

cewood replied on August 12, 2008 22:03 to the idea "It'd be great to add a trip from someone else's itinerary." in Dopplr:
Great idea, but its current implementation is quite poor sadly.
Namely that it does not recognise multi-part trips, so I have to copy each individual stop, and then when it copies it does not maintain them as a multi-part trip, and there is no way that I have found to merge them into an existing trip either, so im stuck with 10 separate trips now, with no indications of where I will be travelling from etc.
What is really required for multi-part trips is the ability to define an empty trip, like a place holder, and then move actual trips into that place holder.
And in place of the copy feature what needs to happen is something along the lines of being able to specify trip participants, so rather than it making a copy of a the trip that isn't needed you can simply specify that you are going on that trip, and have it appear in your trip list.
In the case that someone does genuinely want to copy a trip from another user, then it should definitely preserve the multi-part elements if any of a trip.
Does this make sense to everyone, feedback is welcome of course.
When can I expect to see this rolled out :)-
