acomputerpro asked a question in Twitter on June 27, 2008 04:04:
I can't follow!Dear Twitter: Are you investigating me or trying to punish me? I've received 5 notices today from new followers and I can't follow them back. Are you blocking me from doing this? I can do it from another account I created quite awhile ago that I'm not currently using.
This leads me to believe that you have placed a block on my account to prevent me from adding people and only YOU know why. Thanks for running this by me before instituting it. Are you mad that I'm popular on Plurk and that I publicly pick on your service problems and failures?
I only follow back people that follow me and I feel badly that my new followers can't experience that.

I mentioned this Thursday on Twitter http://twitter.com/acomputerpro/statu... and suggested to my then almost 2,500 Tweeps that we mass unfollow and block @jmcoon. Instead, people Twitter rose to his defense and over 100 unfollowed me. That's what happens when I speak my mind on Twitter, so I'm Plurking a lot more now.

It appears to me, based on Ev's statement... that "Twitter has spoken." I don't expect them to do anything further. Why should they? Just because Ariel started a thread on GetSatisfaction.com (perhaps the longest one in history) doesn't mean she or anyone that agrees with her will get the satisfaction. I think any satisfaction in this case, belongs to Twitter... and me (because Twitter makes me happy.) – acomputerpro, on May 24, 2008 23:20

We're beating a dead horse here at this point.. don't ya think? All that's being accomplished now, is that we are filling up the GetSatifaction.com servers and because of the load, soon it will go down daily just like Twitter. Oh and when I'm referring to "the load" ... never mind... no throwing salt in the wounds.

I just broke my tooth. By the way, Twitter is running fine on my shoe. See the evidence here. http://brightkite.com/objects/4e436f5...

I was trying to stay out of the mix on this, but I just want to make a couple of points. I applaud and respect Twitter, Ev, Biz, Jack and the rest for acting properly. They are smart and reasonable men who have actually thought this whole thing out logically. When I read this insanely giant thread, I am reminded of a lynch mob mentality from most of you. That's sad. The case is pretty clear. Read the facts as presented by both sides.
To me, the most important point is that one should be allowed to comment on "public figures." It's part of our basic freedom of speech. There's no evidence of hatred, harassment or stalking as far as I could tell. It's just someone expressing their opinion of Ms. Waldman and maybe using "salty language." Ariel is really a public figure or "Internet Celebrity" in some sense of the term, because she has marketing herself as such.
You know, I'm a pretty creative person and I like to satirize Twitter and it's prominent users here and there... and I really don't want to have to worry that something or someone is going to take my Twitter forum away from me, because they don't like something I wrote. I worked very hard to gain the Twitter following over over 2,300 people. Don't go making Twitter (assuming it's up) into a moderated and censored chat room. That would really suck!
Now, on with the show.

I could wait and let someone who officially works for Twitter answer your question, pwbau... or I could take this opportunity to practice again for what I hope will be a job offer from Twitter as their Director of Corporate Communications. Going with the latter, I going to have to say the answer is... how am I supposed to know? – acomputerpro, on May 24, 2008 00:21

Hey... who is SourJayne and why is she trying to steal my Twitter thunder? If she tries out for Twitter Spokes-Model, she's got a big advantage over me. I am going to have to go FTW based solely on intelligence and charm. I think Twitter's almost fixed now. I see a pot of gold at the end of the Lincoln tunnel.
