PROBLEM SOLVED!
My cable modem's firewall was the culprit. Since I couldn't figure out which ports to unblock, or how to do that, I just turned it off and am relying on OS X's firewall. -

Thanks for your reply! I suspect that rolling back to 10.4 Tiger is a possible solution, although that would take me a lot of time. Hopefully, a PalTalk Express update will resolve our respective issues. – Ernst von Harringa, on April 17, 2008 03:06 -

Why can't I hear audio in any chat room using Paltalk Express on a Mac?Using Paltalk Express, I can only hear group sounds. I've tried 3 browsers (Safari, Firefox, and Navigator). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox and Flash, as well as trashing various preference files, changing Java and Midi preferences, and removing audio software that might be causing conflict.
I'm running 10.5.2 Leopard on a 2 Ghz Intel MacBook
