A comment on the idea "Huffduffers gonna break my stride?" in Huffduffer:
Thanks for that bug report. I think I've nailed it now in Firefox and Camino — still need to test in Opera. – adactio, on November 23, 2009 23:49

Y'know, it's funny you should mention this... I was thinking the same thing myself. Wherever the "huffduff it" or "edit" buttons appear, it would be nice to switch to a form in situ.
It'll take a bit of Ajax fiddling but I reckon it's doable. I'm putting it on my list of things to get done.
Thanks for suggesting this; it's good to know that it's not just me.
adactio reported a problem in Gowalla on November 08, 2009 16:58:
BacnI don't want to receive any email notifications from Gowalla. For example, when someone wants to be my friend, I don't want to get an email about it. On the settings page, under "Email", there are quite a few options but none of them cover this scenario.-

Create a collective of fellow huffduffersIf you've been subscribing to podcasts by multiple huffduffers, you might have experienced a bit of frustration; there's no way for iTunes to recognise duplicates (or recognise stuff that you've already huffduffed).
As of today, you can simply subscribe to a single podcast. Just add people to your "collective" and then you'll get everything huffduffed by them ...but without any duplicates, and without anything that you yourself have huffduffed.
As an example, here are all the people I have added to my collective:

And here's everything huffduffed by my collective:

To add someone to your collective, just press the "+" button on their profile.
You can read more about this new feature on my blog.
I hope you find this new feature useful. Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions.

Why yes, October is Huffduffer's birthmonth! Thank you!
According to my profile, I've been huffduffing since October 3rd, 2008 so I guess I've missed the exact birthday. But I didn't write this blog post announcement until October 18th, so we can make that the "official" birthday. ;-)

I should write another blog post to describe what a great year it's been.
Thank you again for noticing ...that's really made my day.
adactio replied on October 06, 2009 22:02 to the question "Description formatting" in Huffduffer:
It's Markdown. So basically it will format list items, italics, bold, etc. but that's pretty much it.

Changes to the homepageI've been making a few tweaks to the layout of the homepage. All the same information is available as before, but I've changed the visual hierarchy. Where previously "New" and "Popular" items had equal prominence, I've now given the "Popular" items a wider container to highlight what's "hot" right now (and relegated popular tags to further down the page).
Let me know what you think.
I've also updated the /popular page. Whereas previously it listed the all-time most popular items, it now lists the most popular items in the last week. The "older" and "newer" pagination links allow you to see popular items further back in time (and if you want to see a different time range, feel free to hack the query string).
adactio replied on September 30, 2009 09:18 to the problem "Only seeing most recent item in RSS feed in iTunes 9.0.1.8" in Huffduffer:
I just checked your feed and I can subscribe to it fine and see all the items in it.
Perhaps it's something in your iTunes settings? Try clicking on "Settings" in the bar across the bottom of the podcast section in iTunes and see if there's a setting there that's preventing you from seeing all the episodes in your feed.
Hope that helps.

I *could* do this by getting people to associate their Huffduffer profiles with their Twitter profiles (using Twitter's OAuth API) but I'm kind of reluctant to contribute to more link spam on Twitter.
Does anyone else think that this would be a good idea? If there's enough support for it, I can look into adding it.
