Adam replied on April 27, 2009 17:29 to the problem "Application restricted - due to age?" in LivingSocial:
Hi Belle,
When viewing age-restricted content (e.g., beer, wine, liquor) within Facebook, Facebook requires that you make your age available to applications in order to verify that you are of the appropriate age. To verify that your age is available to applications, please perform the following steps -
* In Facebook, rollover the Settings link in the header.
* Click Privacy Settings.
* Click on the "Applications" link.
* Click the Settings tab.
* Make sure that the "Share my name, networks, and list of friends ..." radio button is selected.
* Make sure that the checkbox next to “Basic Info” is selected.
* Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click “Save Changes.”
You should now be able to view age-restricted content provided that you are of age.
If you are still having an issue viewing LivingSocial, please check to see that the country that you are accessing Facebook from is listed in Facebook's list of Alcohol Age Requirements (http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/i...) and you are older than age listed. IF YOUR COUNTRY IS NOT LISTED, Facebook will block you by default (per the note in the above link)
If you have verified that [1] your Privacy settings allow applications to view your "Basic Info", [2] your country is listed in Facebook's Alcohol Age Requirements, and [3] your age is over the drinking age for the country in which you currently reside, then please let us know and we will work to help you resolve the issue.
Thanks!

Adam replied on March 04, 2009 14:42 to the question "Scrolling through the leader boards" in LivingSocial:
Emma is dead on in that scrolling by page is the only way to scan.
I wanted to add that you can visit any particular page in the leaderboard (up to 10000) by manipulating the page URL.
For example, if I was on this page http://books.livingsocial.com/leaders... I would change the URL to http://books.livingsocial.com/leaders... to go to the 4598th page, which would list the entities ranked from 27,583 to 27,588.

Great suggestion.
Which idea do you prefer:
A)
Enter the # of pages in the book you are reading, and then you can enter which page you are currently "on."
B) Using a slider enter what % of the book you've read.
With either implementation there would then have to be some sort of timeline to track the progress and document past reading history.

Hi Melissa,
Are you still experiencing this problem regarding the 1 star messages?
Also, to disable feed access follow these instructions:
* go to http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/editapps.php
* under the show drop down (top right) click "Authorized"
* find the application name in the list (ex, Visual Bookshelf) and click "edit settings"
* under the wall tab, click the button next to "Never publish any stories from Visual Bookshelf."
Please let me know about the page issue if you have the time.
Thanks,

Adam replied on March 04, 2009 14:20 to the problem "1000 titles and that's it" in LivingSocial:
Hi Charlie,
In response to your message we've expanded each leader board to include 60,000 titles. We limit the numbers of pages for performance reasons. To access any given page directly (without using the next and back links) simply manipulate the URL directly by changing the page number.
ex: http://books.livingsocial.com/leaders...

Hi Julie,
I'd be happy to help unlink your account.
To do so please send us an email at feedback@livingsocial.com and include two URLs: one from your profile page within Visual Bookshelf, and the other from your profile page on the external site (which you posted above).
Thanks,

Adam replied on October 20, 2008 17:40 to the question "Different editions and translations" in LivingSocial:
Hi Stefano,
We are currently in the process of building functionality that should satisfy your first request (add a new edition to an existing work,add ISBN, cover etc).
As for the translations issue I think that these likely should be considered editions, but that determination is not set in stone. What do you think?

Hi Ana,
Since your posting we've re-enabled the watching now status for movies. That being said, to delete the info tab you will need to go to Facebook, click the Applications menu in the bottom left, click Edit, fin LivingSocial: Movies and click, click Edit again, click Profile, and finally click remove next to the Info section line item.
Please let me know if you need further help.

Adam replied on October 17, 2008 13:14 to the problem "Visual Bookshelf Display in the New Facebook" in LivingSocial:
Hi Alison,
The tabbed display of the Visual Bookshelf is a copy of the "Profile" tab within the application.
In addition to the tab display you can display your bookshelf on either your main Wall tab or on your Boxes tab. For further instructions please see http://apps.facebook.com/facebookshel....
