Resolution for Facebook Connection IssuesHello all. Thank you for your patience this weekend regarding the Facebook connection issues. First, I'd like to share what happened.
Yoono connects to Facebook via the API which is accessible by developers. Beginning on Thursday, there were some API issues that prohibited Yoono and other apps from connecting properly. By Friday afternoon, Facebook resolved the issue and we were told that the change would take a few hours to "propagate" across our user base.
It appears that a few percentage of you are still having issues and we have a few steps to help resolve this problem.
-----------
1. Check to make sure you're running Yoono Desktop 1.5 OR Yoono for Firefox 7.0.5. both of these latest versions of Yoono use a slightly modified way of connecting to Facebook that should improve the experience. You can download both at http://yoono.com
2. Once you've done this, it's time to remove Facebook from Yoono. Locate the wrench icon and select, "Add Social Network/IM" to remove FB from Yoono.
3. Close Yoono by clicking the "Yellow Person" icon in Firefox or by quitting Yoono Desktop on your Mac or PC.
4. Visit http://www.facebook.com/editapps.php and hit the "x" next to Yoono. This will revoke Yoono permissions from Facebook which will allow us to reset the connection and request a new API Key / Token. It's fancy geek speak for severing ties and starting fresh. You won't lose any Facebook data by doing this.
5. Restart your browser, launch Yoono and repeat step 2 and add Facebook back to Yoono.
-------------
Upon Completing step 5, things should be back to normal. Facebook updates will come in, you'll be able to use the network completely. In fact, these steps can be mirrored completely with any of our other networks like Twitter & Myspace. By completing these steps, you start fresh with that network which will resolve most issues.
If you attempt these steps are are still having issues, let us know and we'll help you out on an individual basis.

Thank you all for the replies. Some users are stating a reinstall of Yoono will do the trick. I haven't confirmed any one solution that works over others.
As far as I know and based on all of our employees, the issue has been resolved. I'm unsure why anyone is still having this issue. The last effort would be to complete an uninstall. Beyond that I will help you one at a time on a case by case basis.

Have you tried removing and re-adding the Twitter network? Any other network or computer changes made recently?
I haven't seen many users experiencing the infinite spin issue but there's a first time for everything. Let me know and I can send you a debug file. – Adam Jackson, on December 13, 2009 01:12

Hi Stewart. The facebook changes were made but I've learned that there may be a few minutes as the changes propagate. Beyond simply restarting your browser, just wait please and it should be restored soon. Let me know the outcome. – Adam Jackson, on December 11, 2009 21:23

Adam Jackson replied on December 11, 2009 19:16 to the question "automated Yoono software updates" in Yoono:
Since you're using Yoono for Firefox, it's actually an automatic process. Yoono will check for updates periodically and notify you if there are new versions of your add-ons available for download.
If you want to force the update process, you can launch the add-ons area of Firefox and check for updates manually.
