Adam Schoales asked a question in Songbird on November 10, 2009 16:37:
Will adding Artwork Modify File's MetadataWhen adding album-art to my tracks in Songbird is it modifying the FLAC files themselves, or just a library file in Songbird itself?
I only ask because I have some files which I've aquired... elsewhere... and if the files themselves are changed by adding album art then they wouldn't register right with the torrent and would re-download themselves.
Same with other metadata like Ratings and the like... is this stored in a library file or the meta data of the files themselves?
Cheers!

Cannot Forward E-MailI cannot forward my email to my domain. It's saying I can only forward to a custom domain (which I'm trying to do).

Hmm, it appears that by copying and pasting the link SOMETHING is getting screwed up (probably why tumblr is getting confused)
here's an image of the link that I copied and pasted from firefox into Text Edit.

strangely in Safari the URL is different (but still doesn't work)

Again, the weirdest thing is that everything used to work - perhaps Flickr has changed the way it calls RSS now... but all I know is it worked right up until 3 days ago...
Adam Schoales reported a problem in Tumblr on November 13, 2008 13:10:
Flickr Feed Will Not Import...Prior to a couple of days ago I was importing my flickr photos that were tagged with a specific tag to my Tumblr. Somehow this feed got deleted, and it no longer allows me to import my flicker feed.
Everytime I try to import:
http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/...@N00&tags=picaday&lang=en-us&format=rss_200
I'm being told it's an invalid feed.
Has Tumblr/Flickr turned off support?
A comment on the problem "Twitter refuses to uphold Terms of Service" in Twitter:
I'm not sure I understand what your argument is... Are you arguing that twitter IS a community or isn't? My point was that people on the forum here going around saying "twitter isn't a communications tool it's a community!" are making a flawed argument because the two are not mutually exclusive.
And regarding your "arguments" you may not be in a community with 69 million facebook users, but you are in a community with your FRIENDS there. Plus not knowing every member doesn't mean your not in a community. Schools are communities - but I don't know every single student at my university. Twitter most certainly is a community -- maybe not one where everyone knows each other but certainly communities exist within twitter. It's what keeps people coming back.
Again if I've missed the point of your comment you must excuse me - but I really don't understand what you are trying to argue. – Adam Schoales, on May 25, 2008 02:05

Absolutely. Finally some sense! Don't get me wrong, I do feel bad for Ariel as I've made quite clear everytime I've posted - but come on people! – Adam Schoales, on May 24, 2008 03:36

I fail to understand how "communications tool" isn't a community? I don't think the Twitter people are DENYING the community, it very clearly is one. Just like facebook is one. Just like Digg is one. And Flickr. But if you were to CLASSIFY those sites in a category you wouldn't find them under "community". You'd find social network, news, photo hosting. Twitter IS a communications tool and from that tool you get a community. And while I'm still perplexed as to why twitter didn't just go ahead and ban the guy I fear how things are going to start to change because of this upraor...
Freedom of Speech is a good thing my friends, but sometimes you end up with douchebags who abuse this ability. Does that mean that everyone should be punished?
Again, I do feel for Ariel. I know that what she's gone through is tough. I've gone through it too (although in a much more public form over on the facebook) and it's not fun to have to deal with. Having said that I still don't think that people should be at the Twitter guys throats. And if Twitter does bow to the pressure (like Digg did with the HD-DVD Decryption Code) it will be a dark day in my books.
Adam Schoales replied on May 23, 2008 03:53 to the problem "Twitter refuses to uphold Terms of Service" in Twitter:
I feel for both Ariel and the Twitter Folks. There's no doubt that what Ariel went through is absolutely awful, and I do see her point about enforcing their TOS, but having said that the Twitter folks are in a real tough spot...
...I do hope that this does cause a serious look at the TOS situation, but I also hope that once things change you don't have people bitching that Twitter is too strict. Let us not forget about the uproar over the Digg HD-DVD Decryption code.
That was a nightmare, and in the end the geeks won... and while I'm all against DRM I cannot help but feel like things didn't end the way they should of. Having said that, Digg threw up their hands and said "forget it, we're not getting involved, we're going to ignore our TOS and please you guys". Now, the shoe is on the other foot for twitter and everyone is angry...
So again, I sympathize for both, and I sincerely hope Ariel does "get satisfaction" and that this creep is stopped.
