Thanks for at least stating a position. Many services choose to simply fail to acknowledge ideas they don't plan to implement. I have found myself opening / exploring a different client when I need to track a particular url. While its not a deal-killer on most days, it will probably begin to chafe at the edges.

I haven't tried using a non-openid account and then linking which may be a workaround. IMHO it would defeat the purpose of openid. Has anyone successfully used OpenID to signup? Did it work before?
