Teri,
Yup - a storymap with no pins isn't a happy storymap either! I just looked at your feed and unfortunately you have to get more specific than a community or a zip code.
If you log into your feed editor and click on "Add a place to this post", you can attach a specific place to your story and it will then show up on your map. Let us know if that works!

Teri,
Stories in your RSS feed definitely get linked to the map, but in order to put a pin on the map we have to detect a specific place or address in your story to know where to place the pin, so if your story talks about a region like Minnesota, but not a specific address or place in that region your story will not show up on the map.
There's a few ways you can fix this, and they are outlined here: http://outside.in/public/geo_tagging
You can also use your feed editor, by going to http://outside.in/geotoolkit/feed and attaching a place to posts that you want to show up on the map.
More info here: http://outside.in/geotoolkit/faq#q5
I hope that helps, and please feel free to let us know if you have anymore questions!

Ah, strange. Could you share your lat/long with me? (or email it to aditya@outside.in)
I'm using FF3 and had no trouble getting results from http://api.outside.in -- of course you only get results in either XML or JSON.

Matt,
One great example is this blog: http://www.phoenixrealestateguy.com/b... they have a storymap in their sidebar as well, and all you need to do is figure out how big your site's sidebar is and paste our widget code in there!
Currently, there's no way of putting search results on your site, but you could possibly get RSS feeds for all the stories in zip code 60657 here: http://outside.in/60657 and plug it in.
