my feedback so far:

Clock:
1) dial on clocks dont need to be transparent, hands dont show up well on dark backgrounds.

2) add a clock face with numbers.

3) stop the flashing every time it updates, annoying if set to a 1 second refresh rate.

Weather:

1) this is the same with all bumptop icons. it doesnt hang straight. no matter how you put it, it will straighten itself but still be slightly off.

Themes.

1) add a settings dialog

once i re-read i realised you were talking about regedit (i must of missed the first word 0.o)

ok you just confused me

and i already have a problem with it.

i started getting this problem when i switched to 17(VIP)

on my c: drive root folder i previously tried bumping this folder was a bit laggy so i disabled it. in 17 however it now redirects me to "c.bumptop" which is the directory used for the bump this folder as you well know.

as i have bump this folder disabled it just shows as an empty folder. when i try to go back to my c drive so i can use it, it takes me back to the "c.bumptop" folder constantly. so i cannot use windows explorer in the normal way. (i have to use the folder tree thing on the left, which gets annoying)

after seeing this post and the fact that you have updated the bump this folder option, i figured this might be the cause.

vista ultimate 32 bit

beta 17 (latest version)

press "CTRL+L" flat mode sorted

sounds like a great idea, I know I would use it ;) but i think the bumptop team have alot of things to do and alot of things may take a while to even get considered.

although it may be possible for them to make a "throwable" icon for VLC, iTunes and media player, just like they have for e-mail and Recycle bin.

this may be a nice quick fix until they have more time

so best thing to do is hope a rep reads this and responds

the file cabinets are a good idea, great way to organise things.

the widgets are in development, the are making a "weather window" that should be out very soon,

a few people have asked abot 3D icons, no word on how far the team are with that, they are experimenting though (or so i have heard)

also they are making a mail pile for your desktop.

It would be really helpful if you could post some more info about the specs of the computer, and if possible a crash report if bumptop generated one.

1) the "COMCTL32.dll." error that keeps showing up whenever i try to click more on the desktop (icons are fine)

2) No video/windows able to be used from the desktop

just be patient,

There are hundreds of people waiting to get into this beta, there simply isn't the capacity for that many people.

remember this is a beta, beta's are for testing purposes, not so every person who thinks it looks cool can play around with it whilst it is still in development. it can still be unstable, especially the VIP beta.

have you previously received a code and accidentally deleted it?

or have you signed up to the mailing list and have not recived one?

it takes some time to receive a code, it is not an instant thing, at the moment the beta is quite limited. More people are being accepted every day so be patient.
