Changing my Application - Is it Possible?
Is there a way to change my application once I have applied for a party? The reason is that generally I apply for a HP and one of the questions will be - did you receive an email from the host sponsor, newsletter, etc. Most of the time I have already applied by the time the host responds. Example - I applied for the Land O Lakes party on Feb. 24. On March 1 I received the notice from LOL encouraging me to apply. If receiving multiple notices about the party is one of the reasons I may not be considered, I would like the chance to update the application for instances like this. What do you think? I look forward to hearing from you.

Just wanted to let you know that Alpine has responded. I received a letter in the mail this week along with a consolitation coupon prize. It was a sweet victory. Maybe more companies will continue this practice.

I really like how the dashboard page indicates status of party host. Realizing a party had been released and watching the map light up with confirmed hosts always left me wondering. And in turn I emailed to find out status. So this has been a great feature to me. Maybe on the application process some fine tuning if you will on questions. Especially if you know ahead of time you are looking for a particular geographic region for applicants. That would prevent someone in mid america from applying if you only want east coast. Also having an opportunity at the end of each application process to leave a 50 word comment of something you want to add that may not have been included in questions.

The more open HP can be with the process the more understaning people will be. I have only hosted 3 parties out of 28 applications. My record is not very good at all and yes at times I have really been frustated. Mainly because the only reason given is too many applicants. It always makes me feel like it is a random selection and no matter what my comments are it doesn't matter. Maybe if another reason were given I wouldn't think the computer is randomly choosing hosts.

    Thanks for asking.

How about a consolation prize (product coupon) attached to the "sorry you were not selected"? This way the 15,000 - 20,000 folks not selected will have the sting of rejection possibly softened.

For example velveeta has on their web page a coupon for $1 off purchase. For those not selected a "special - non HP Host" marked coupon could be attached to the rejection email. It could be marked in some way that only rejected people get the coupon. That way HP could actually keep track of how many were printed. When coupon is used the company could be also to keep track of how many people utilized coupon and gain more exposure for their product.

Simple prize that most companies are currently providing on their own web pages. That is where I got my ziplock coupon, velveeta coupon, etc.

    What do you think?

It might help soften the blow of rejection with minimal cost to company. Actually when you think the company is already making coupons available to customers this would only add to their customer base without increasing advertising dollars.

With the economy the way it is many people are turning to coupons more now than ever.

    Where did I go Wrong?
Please oh please tell me what I'm doing wrong with the application process? This is the 3rd decline notice I've received for 3 products that I am extremely passionate about. Butter, Cream Cheese and now Velveeta. This is getting very discouraging. Can you advise? I still like HP but it would help me understand the process more if I thought someone really took serious the comments on the application. But maybe there are just people that are better at applications than I am.

Raising the Bar with Customer Service - Not always a Host but Thankful for HP's to Customer Service
HP Customer Service. I really love HP. Every time I have questions I'm an email away from a very helpful person. HP has educated me abour RSS, Widgets, Evite, Facebook just to name a few. I'm learning things everyday that I pick up from HP. Employees are as passionate about helping me as I am about hosting parties. A good combination. I even wrote to HP probably a month ago to say just that.

Even though It has been frustrating at times the new changes, dashboard, etc have all been good. Frustration has really been because you don't know why you weren't selected for particular party. Example - I and my family live off butter - land o lakes all the way, we've been active with cookie swaps and give ways with holiday baking for years, etc - but yet didn't get a selection for the Cookie Swap. And there have been others as well. But there have also been some parties that I wasn't selected for that I understood why - I wasn't as passionate about the product but butter - that is me - anyway - love the concept, and all about HP. But I am most thankful for the kindness shown when I ask a question that has probably been answered by HP a million times.

Customer service has always been good for me. Even when they've had to tell me I wasn't selected as a host. Everyone I've spoken with in person or via email has been passionate about helping. There have been several helpers but one person in particular has been Erik. I appreciate the opportunities that I have been afforded with HP. Thanks

    Hi Amy,
Even though I've been a HP regular for some time, I've just seen your request from 4 months ago.

I really love HP. I even wrote to the CEO probably a month ago to say just that. It has been frustrating at times but the new changes, dashboard, etc have all been good. Frustration has really been because you don't know why you weren't selected for particular party. Example - I and my family live off butter - land o lakes all the way, we've been active with cookie swaps and give ways with holiday baking for years, etc - but yet didn't get a selection for the Cookie Swap. There have been some parties that I wasn't selected for that I understood why - I wasn't as passionate about the product but butter - that is me. We don't even use any margarine - anyway - love the concept, and all about HP. Customer service has always been good for me and I appreciate the opportunities that I have been afforded with HP.

I would love to host a Super Bowl Party (which I will be) but especially the velveeta party. I grew up with velveeta and it is a staple in our house. As a matter of fact I have several boxes in the refrigerator right now. The store had them on sale this week. Thanks for asking.

I love the concept of house party and the application process has not been that difficult. Your customer service has been really great. Anytime I have had any questions I have been quick to get a response. One time I received confirmation but when I never received any further information I contacted Erik and he was most helpful. Couldn't explain why I had been deleted from the list of potential hosts, but the email I sent him confirmed there had been a mistake.

I have been fortunate to have been a host but have been discouraged several times for not having been chosen. Especially the Philladelphia and Cookie Swap in December. It is really discouraging when you see folks win and they never post any pictures or blogs.

But I will keep trying. Thanks for asking. T

Excited too! I wrote the CEO some time back when I noticed the changes. It is more user friendly to me. And I personnaly like the look because one of my photos was chosen to be the top photo used in the stack (FORD Warriors Party - Everyone including the guys are in pink). We had a blast. We love the house party concept and the new look is great. Keep up the good work. We hope to be selected to host more parties this year.
