Nancy Segal reported a problem in KLM on March 23, 2009 17:13:
Penalized for booking typo and must purchase new ticket!$$$$$$!I booked a RT ticket LA/AMS via LHR for a 5 day trip. Accidentally clicked April instead of March for return flight and didn't notice until arrival in Europe (I'd been focussed on my departure,) and brought it to the attention of the airline immediately. I was told to take it up with KLM when I arrived in Amsterdam. I've spoken to representatives both online and off, and have been told that it is impossible to fix my ticket, and I must purchase a new one to go home. I can understand their skepticism, if I appeared to be adding a few days onto a vacation, but 5 weeks??? I am an executive in a position with high responsibility. After recognizing my error, I did my part by addressing it right away, yet I've received no help at all.
Hard to believe that the technology is not sophisticated enough to make an adjustment, and that I am being penalized for the slip of a finger. Any ideas?

I'm not sure how/where to post how unbelievably FAST & FANTASTIC this process went, starting with Lacy's help. With her direction, she had someone at RealNetworks (CharlieF, Tier2 CS) contact me. CharlieF listened to my issue, 'played it back' for confirmation, took immediate steps to partially reimburse me, while sending my issue on to another department that might be able to do even more ... which I just found out today, did just that. I couldn't ask for more! I call this EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Thanks to all involved!
btw..if anyone follows the time frame in which this happened, please note that I did not respond to CS for 12 days. Not their fault)

aioli asked a question in RealNetworks, Inc. on September 16, 2008 10:09:
lost in the internet cracks - want my money back!I have been paying since May 2005 for NO services- RealArcade Game Pass Trial & RadioPass UK.
Cancellation of trial went unacknowledged.
Coincidently, when moving to another country, my ISP abruptly shut off my email -no warnings or forwards. I notified all I could think of (but not company that I'd cancelled months earlier)
You ask, how could I not know of charges? Unfortunately, I was not handling bookkeeping- Only by chance was it brought to my attention recently.
Any suggestions for most realistic possibility of recourse (more than 400 euros were charged!)
Lastly, I cannot get my hands on cancellation doc.
See post to Amy Muller's Welcome page for more wordy explanation.. Thank you!

Thanks for the welcome- I think this is a fantastic concept... I have an issue with RealNetworks that may be easy to resolve, yet my instincts tell me that there's probably a better route than going straight to Customer Service - Perhaps you can offer some direction:
It was recently brought to my attention by my bookkeeper that I'd been paying for RealOne Arcade Game Pass Trial and RadioPass UK monthly since May 2005, and he wanted to know what they were - Here's the problem: I don't know. Oh wait: I HAD cancelled a trial from Realnetworks and assumed (stupidly) that was the end of it! I moved in 2005, and my ISP (Planet.nl) terminated my email account without warning- maybe it's a dutch thing) Naturally I was horrified and scrambled to notify everyone and all accounts I could think of immediately, as emails were not forwarded. (And remember, I didn't realize I still had an account with RealNetworks.)I logged on to see what I was paying for, and indeed, there are my old addresses (both real and email) under my account details. I assume many emails and newsletters have been sent to that old address, which under normal circumstances would've alerted/reminded me that some account existed . Bottom line - got any ideas how to address this and get some (if not all) the over 400 euros I've been paying for NOTHING (and no, I don't think I can get my hands on the cancellation letter)? I NEVER use RealNetworks for anything. Thanks in advance ~!
