Fraser Speirs' reply to "Exporting video from iPhoto?" was just promoted to the most useful! Alex Chaffee and 2 other people think it's one of the best replies.
Alex Chaffee replied on July 01, 2009 00:34 to the problem "Why are my posts showing up empty in Google Reader?" in Google Reader:
My friend's blog Candleblog has the same problem, though there's no spam in the source. The contents were all showing up full and fine until recently; now the body is empty in Reader. Check http://candleboy.com vs. http://candleboy.com/feed

I'm sorry for the misleading "Activation failed" message... Your account was indeed activated but there's a sporadic problem where sometimes it reports a failure when it really worked.
As for the "authentication failed"... I see a suspicious login attempt for unknown user "amylol" -- perhaps you'd like to buy a vowel? :-)

Alex Chaffee replied on April 25, 2009 18:29 to the question "mood importing from LiveJournal" in Moodlog:
Quick update: I looked into the LiveJournal API a bit, and it looks doable, but I'd need to do some experimentation to figure out exactly what calls I'd need to make (mood is sort of an added-on "meta" attribute so there's no simple "getMood" call). Or if someone wants to write, or point me to, some code...

The feedback widget noticed that you're using an old version of Firefox. Could you try upgrading to version 3.x and try again?

Aaron -
I checked the db and your account is still alive and well. Not sure why you couldn't log in. I'll delete your schedule right now which will stop the feelers, and I've sent you a password reset email if you want to log in to your account and start them up again (possibly at a reduced frequency!)

Alex Chaffee replied on April 04, 2009 19:16 to the problem "password problem" in Moodlog:
It seems that you were entering in your email address, not your username. But I agree that it's confusing, so I've added the ability to use either one to reset your password. I won't be able to deploy the change for a little while, so for now, I'll go enter in your username so you get a password reset email.
Note that even if it fails, the message "please go check your email" still shows up. This is to prevent a "trolling" attack, where a hacker can enter in a million email addresses to see who does and does not have an account, and thus find valid accounts to spam or compromise. I'm not sure if this is really the best behavior, though, since it misleads honest users... hmm.
