How do you add a friend through their username? For example... i have a friend who lives in france, I know his username but can not add him because he is not close to me in twinkle. Is there any other way to add him as a friend?

I was approved as a beta tester, and I followed the link in the email and registered. It said I would recieve an activation email. But 3 hours later, I have not recieved anything. What do I do?
