Alex Leonard asked a question in Topify on October 05, 2009 12:19:
DM Reply Truncated by Topify.I think it would be great if Topify had some method for handling character overrun on DM's. If I reply to someone using Topify I have no indication in my mail client (Gmail in this case) of how many characters I've typed - meaning it's very easy to go over the limit and the text just gets truncated.
Perhaps Topify could either (1) break a long message into 2 or more DM's (possibly not ideal), or alternatively (2) could provide a random URL for the reader to be able to view the rest of the DM (also, possibly not ideal).
Obviously the two solutions that occur to me have their downsides.
1. If you type a very long response which is split into multiple DM's the person you're replying to would get inundated with lots of DM's, which could be somewhat confusing due to their broken up nature.
2. It might be inconvenient for the recipient to check the rest of the DM on the web, as well as the fact that you'd have to truncate the initial DM even more by including a bit.ly link.
Anyway, just thought I'd throw it out there.
Great service!

More time!I'd like to see more time time line options for viewing your used applications. Past 6 months, Past year, All time.
Just be intrigued to go a bit beyond the last month of usage.

Hey Kakoo,
Unfortunately this fix still requires moving to compact view mode, which is a bit of a shame as you end up losing the nice touch of having all your skype chats in one window. In the default view there is still no way to reduce the overall width of the window to something more manageable.
Hence I'm sticking with the Pidgin plugin which brings all my skype chats into pidgin.
A!

In the meantime I've semi solved this issue by using Pidgin!
http://eion.robbmob.com/
That reduces my need for desktop space and means I've got skype, google talk, msn, facebook chat etc all in one place.
Something tells me that skype should really offer the ability to add other chat protocols into the one window - I think that would be a very forward thinking move.

Minimum width of Skype 4 is frustratingHi there,
I would definitely like to see the minimum width restriction on Skype 4 changed. The main use I have for it is to display current chat and my conversations column. I can't reduce the overall skype window to less than 800px. Now, I figure I can get by with 220px for my left column and I really don't think I need much more than about 400px for my right (chat) column. Being able to take the overall skype window down to 600px would be great. On my quad-screen setup, I use one of my two 1280x1024px screens for all my IM needs and having skype there just squeezes everything else into such a small space. So my Seesmic Desktop and Pidgin windows are left with nothing to work with.
I know I can put Skype into compact mode, but that sort of defeats the nice approach of just having one window with all my conversations.
Any chance this could be sorted out for the 4.1 release?

A further note I'd like to add in here, is that adding links through zemanta defaults to the deprecated target="_blank"
I think this should be removed as well, due to it's invalid nature. Definitely makes me feel that the plugin should have an options screen to allow the user to designate options such as target usage, class names, and default Related Articles HTML structure.

I was just about to post a message about the non-semantic use of fieldsets.
Definitely drop any inline css, or create an option to switch off the use of inline css.
I'd prefer to control this with my own style sheet. Obviously you want to have people who don't do their own styling to not have to worry about things looking poor, but definitely keep all those options open and you'll get the more nerdy types interested!
