There is no 30 days to decide if you don't like the phone Asurion sent you. The original phone was damaged and was replaced numerous times by Asurion. Originally they sent the wrong phone, then we sent it back and they sent the right phone and then that one didn't work properly. Another one was sent and that one didn't work properly either. We were very upset at that point so they offered a new model. That is the phone I am talking about that we wish we never had. At that point there was no 30 days to decide and we were stuck for the remainder of the contract.

As far as reporting the phone too early, you are correct. We should have waited but it was not a matter of paying for service we weren't using. I know about suspension. It was the fear of my daughter not having a cell phone while driving.

No Verizon wireless service at home
I have little to no Verizon wireless service in my house. We couldn't even activate our new cell phones inside. We had to walk outside. All customer service ever says is they are sorry.

Thanks. It would be better to keep verizon as all my family members have verizon and we can talk without using up minutes. The other thing that drives me crazy is we have little to no cell phone service in our house! Every time I see the commercial about "dead zones" I laugh! – Alindasong, on July 24, 2008 21:19

Asurion and Verizon wireless annoy me!
I'm extremely annoyed with both Verizon wireless and Asurion.

My daughter lost her phone and I initiated a claim with Asurion. The phone was found 20 minutes after I called but Asurion would not let me cancel the claim. They charged me the deductible and counted it as one of the allowed claims for the year.
Now she has a duplicate of the phone she can't stand anyway. We of course will return the replacement because we found the old one but she wishes she had neither!
The cell phone from Verizon overheats and is difficult to use. When you don't like a phone you get with a new wireless plan there seems to be nothing to do about that either.

So to sum up, it stinks that Asurion has to count this as a claim and it stinks that wireless providers won't allow you to trade in your cell phone if you aren't happy with the one you got with them in the first place.
