i can confirm that this did not solve the problem. i just checked with two people after i deleted the 1200+ (unknown contacts) and they confirmed that they still dont have the ability to comment on a non-commented items

i may have messed up big time.

i deleted 1200-1300 (unnamed contacts) from my coworkers list. but when i went back to to the list of followers so i can manually re-add them its showing only240 users of the 730+ that used to show in that list.

is there an easy way to get the full list of the missing 500 users that i deleted up in the process. is there a way to undelete the 1300 (so i can just wait for a proper fix)

i do in fact have many duplicates (about 800:) ). any easy way to remive them. and as chuck says, the duplicates love creating themselves (and i thought it was because of the cyanogen ROM on my G1)

i started putting dummy comments two weeks ago but that was messing everyones comment view. so i had to stop. is there another work around for this

Brien shih, any luck in reproducing the bug. as you can see many many people are suffering from this. and the comment view is all messed up since eveyone is now putting fake comments

ignore my first reply. its not true. i have chat friends that are not able to comment without an existing comment

not really a top priority problem but i just wanted to bring it to the attention of the developers. i used to be able to use the full desktop view on my WM6.1 WVGA-evabled Xperia X1 with Opera mobile 9.7. the mobile versions (/I and /m) of GR are too crippled compared to the desktop version and most importantly they do not support the hardware keyboard of my X1 for quick browsing

maybe its a bug with the counter and items that are shared by multiple people. (for example if an item is shared my 4 people it gets treated as 1 item even though its really 4 items) will see if i can notice something and get back

it does not happen always to the same people. to be honest i haven't noticed this happen in normal feeds just shared items by people

i notice it happens most in the people i follow section. one second everything is read. the next it shows me that i have 2 or 3 unread items of the people i follow. i click on them, there is nothing new

i also have a folder that i added may people items as a feed. going over the item one by one until they are all done does not give me zero like it should.

some are allowed to add a comment even if the items are not commented before. the majority is experiencing it. are you experiancing it?. you are already on my coworkers group that has commenting ability. my shared items ar at http://www.google.com/reader/view/#st.../user%2F06209096757327730374%2Fstate%2Fcom.google%2Fbroadcast

yes im sure the items are shared.

btw the problem is not just on my account. im also noticing that i cant comment on some items of some users

the "show details"is showing me 577, where are the people following me it shows 691 (today). shouldnt the show details show a higher number?

i always notice that GR is always reporting the wrong number of unread items. it sometimes also reports that some of the people on my follow list have new items even though they don't

if i go to sharing settings i see a very different number
anybody on you commenting group shows as a follower even if he is not

if i add someone to a share group (like coworkers for example). GR automatically tells me that they are following me even though they are not. i also noticed that they're people who are following me (i can tell because they always "like" my shared items) but if i click on them it does not say that they are following me

this makes it really hard to know who is following me and who is not.

i noticed that the problem does not happpen on some followers that are on my chat group

in GR most of my followers that are added on a commenting group dont have the ability to comment on an item if i did not comment. the silly workaround that im using now is to place a dummy comment on every item i share
