We solved this by creating a wrapper in Cappucino. That initilized the soundManager when it was supposed to. Perhaps you can do the same with JQuery?

Thankyou for answering. Actually this (http://getsatisfaction.com/schillmani...) fixed my problems. Turns out I needed a "lazy loading" to wait for the onload method as you described.
