Adam Byrtek replied on September 02, 2009 14:18 to the idea "Recurring Sprint Tasks?" in Code Sprinters:
We tend to use stories for user-visible functionality, excluding rare cases when it is not possible. When it comes to things like documentation and integration testing we use tasks for a given story to plan this.
Anyway I see your point, but "recurring stories" won't be on top of our backlog, sorry. Hope this won't be a big burden for you to add it by hand every sprint.
Adam Byrtek replied on August 31, 2009 14:22 to the idea "Recurring Sprint Tasks?" in Code Sprinters:
We respect that this might be useful in your particular case but this sounds like a rather unusual requirement for a Scrum project, such projects are in general non-repeatable with different tasks on each sprint. Because of this we don't plan to support such recurrence in the near future.
If anybody else has such a need please post your opinion in this thread!

Adam Byrtek replied on August 07, 2009 14:09 to the problem "Completing tasks the same day you assign them doesn't update hours complete" in Code Sprinters:
You are right, it's an important semantic distinction between changing an estimate of a task because you made a mistake (eg. put 100h instead of 10h) and changing an estimate because you actually got the work done.
Our rule of handling this dilemma is imperfect but very simple – any changes made to the estimate during the day it was created are counted as corrections, any further changes are considered "work done".
We considered different design decisions like providing an option to mark the estimate as "final" or implementing two fields: initial and current estimate. However all those ideas require additional steps that the user has to do for *every* task which is prohibitive. We believe that managing tasks should be as simple and quick as possible and in our opinion it's better to have an application that is easier to use even if charts are not perfect.
Finally please take into account that burnup and burndown charts are just a high-level tool to see the general trends during the sprint, not a precise metric.

Adam Byrtek replied on August 06, 2009 11:43 to the idea "CSV Exports and Excel" in Code Sprinters:
Excel uses different separator depending on locale, in Europe semicolon is more common because comma is reserved for a decimal separator. That's why in Banana Scrum the CSV separator is configurable in project settings.
Anyway we will make a change in the coming release so that comma will be a default rather than semicolon.
Adam Byrtek replied on August 04, 2009 06:57 to the idea "Goal/Feature Group of Backlog Items" in Code Sprinters:
You could assign a tag for each feature you would like to track. We implemented tags to give our users a flexible way to introduce different kinds of groupings without the limitations of a single hierarchical structure. Moreover it is possible to filter backlog items based on tags (both tags assigned and tags *not* assigned). Hope that helps!
