For all free formats, by all means include them. But i mean oddballs or payware formats. Gstreamer supports all common things, but for anything else, just give them a link.

If nothing else, just suggest link to all codecs for each platform and say you may need these. Its then up to the user to install them, but they don't have to be addon. for example fluendo-mp3 plugins, just provide a link to where you can get them from, or instructions on installing from repos

Songbird will support HTML5 sooner or later, probably in the next release or whenever they update gecko to the latest version (if they haven't already, I have not tested)
Why not use HTML5 Canvas to do a visualization. Something like this, but restricted to a pane and the controls cleaned up (and maybe the wave getting bigger as the volume does?)

Thanks, that worked perfectly. Note this was 1.4 blessed, in case anyone else had issues. I removed the last reg key and it worked.

I tried to downgrade back to 1.2 from 1.4beta. Had issues, uninstaller didn't work. So i tried to remove all the files manually, i got program files and app data, and even the registry key.
It still says on both 1.2 and 1.4beta that SB is installed, and i need to remove it before i can reinstall. There's no program files uninstaller, anymore, but I think I've eliminated, every file. Any ideas, wheres the file that tells the SB installer that it's already installed?

And yes, i know, this was a stupid move on my part. Thanks for any help.

There use to be a right click option that let use deleted songs directly from songbird. Personally I miss that. You have to go show file then go to it and delete it, and remove it from songbird. Can we get our delete button back, maybe even hide it on the menu so its not 1 click to delete a song for good? I supposed this could be done via an addon too, to make it optional.

I didn't have the problem this time, I've had it before and always just nuked the computer at some point and waited it out. I only followed the topic cause i had some idea of the exporting/backing up stuff :P

that and last.fm seems to have isssues with trying to login after the internet fails, but restart SB and it works usually

Pure player support for Lyric Master?

We all know and love pure player, but I find it would like to use it more, but I can't sacrifice my lyrics for it. So my suggestion is to make a pop up, with a hotkey, like the Control J for jumplist or Control E for Equalizer, but for the lyric master sidebar. so you could pop up a minimal pure player skin and still show your lyrics. (preferably with an always on top feature for the lyic master panel)
Thoughts on this?

Guess its really a question for the lyic master dev, but what would be cool is if the SB team could give each display pane the ability to undock from the main SB window, so the mini player, or pure player could show mashtape, lyric master or one of the many album art addons?

my only suggestions is to install SB again, via the tar.gz file to your /home/user directory and reinstall doing that

songbird use to play videos, not very well, but it did, back before 1.0
1.0 and beyond, it uses gstreamer ported to windows by POTI
before 1.0 they used VLC codecs

personally, i wish they stayed with VLC codecs

Ok, try setting permissions to full for the folder they're all in

also set the owner of the folder to your user, not root as is probably the default.
