The reason I want to delete my account is that I'm frustrated that as a regular reader and commenter I've been disabled for no apparent reason, my requests at explanation have been ignored, and I should have control over an account that was created with my email address and a unique commenter ID. And, as henhowc writes above:
They need a better system "...instead of allowing these subjective perma-bans that just end up alienating your reader base.
Telling people "You can simply register a new account with a new commenter name and forget the one you don't like anymore" totally misses the point." -

Hotmail says I need to update my already up to date Firefox!Hi there,
I use Firefox as my browser on my PC. When I log into my Hotmail account it tells me I must update my browser's components to prevent some services from not working correctly. However, I have updated my Firefox. I became so frustrated with this request, I finally went through with the link from the notice thinking that maybe if Hotmail forced me to update it would recognize that I have the most current version. Alas, it was not so. I still receive the notice to update my browser. I've taken to just selecting "continue on..." but this makes me a little nervous about the "bugginess" of the program. Any ideas?

I have this same problem! I've emailed as well with no response. It's extremely frustrating. My comment was "disemvowled" and commenting disabled. The frustrating thing, is that I positively responded to the post. I said: "Yes! This is goshdarn beautiful!" Except I didn't say "goshdarn" at the time. This though, shouldn't be a problem considering the extremely gigantic level of obscenities strewn all over Gawker. And it certainly wasn't incendiary or an obscenity targeted at anyone. I've been leaving comments on Gawker for some time now and have never had a problem. I don't participate in any of the poor commenting behaviors listed all over Gawker and the internet in general citing how to be a good commenter. If I cannot have my commenting priveleges reinstated, I certainly want the option of deleting my account.
