Ilia asked a question in Soocial on July 08, 2009 05:15:
How do you plan to support matching of fields that Outlook has no room for?For instance: I have contacts with more than 2 Home telephone numbers, and/or with more than 1 mobile number (oh, crap, it's so essential nowadays!)
I've established new connection with outlook who has an empty contact list. Then synced.
Now what I get? Extra telephone numbers that just do not fit into the tight Outlook room are simply thrown away!
Let me tell you a secret: I'm deeply convinced that Outlook contact internal data model is flawed to the core. It is a nightmare to match with, say Apple Adressbook (which relies on time-proof industry standard vcf). But still, guys, you HAVE to have a matching plan for these cases! Say, each extra mobile number is going to be stored in Other, than Radio, than Callback, that Car, etc. Plus it is essential then to keep track of these links on your side in order not to mess up the next sync.
My luck I'm not relying heavily on Outlook. What a lucky person I am...

Webapp does not show group in some contactsHad the pretty synced up state both in gmail and soocial.
Recently moved 9 contacts in GMail from one group to another. After that synced with Social. Now these contacts appear to have no group at all in soocial. gmail is ok. Tried to add them manually with little effect. Exported vcf from soocial and saw that these new groups are actually present. It's just the webapp don't want to show 'em. Checked different browsers. Can share my account info for you to look into my logs. No problem.-

Saving unchanged contact adds garbage data in web interface.Try open any contact in web interface. Then immediately hit Save.
I get the same data plus:
all the blank names' section fields are now filled with their hint filler text
(e.g. : "additional names" filed now really contains this text!)
Additional organization section (which I didn't create) (with all fileds filled with respective hint texts: "unit1", "unit2", ...)
Additional adress section (with all fileds filled with respective hint texts)
ha-ha %)-

Web interface does not work properlyAfter installing Firefox 3.5 noticed the web interface changs:
the contacts list does not fit into screen (vertically too small)
and lookup search does not work anymore.
Checked IE 8 - the same issue appears after some time also.
Looks like some JavaScript trouble to me.
Did not log into soocial for about a week or so, maybe the is no
real connection to Firefox/IE

Nice. Everything works as it should. So, you say its a XP only problem?
Looks like they've fixed something in standard decoder in Vista. But why still
WMP works good even in XP ?? – Ilia, on December 15, 2008 08:54
