A comment on the problem "I don't know how you got informations from facebook but my name and pictures are for facebook use only, I don't want them to be seen by everybody on the web, it's private. Please remove me from spoke as soon as possible. Thank you." in Spock:
Again- it's not always public info. My first & last name managed to get on Spock even though I have NEVER EVER had them publicly available on Myspace, which Spock says was the source. And like I've said before, requiring people to register for Spock in order for them to have their information removed is just stupid. – amesmb, on April 17, 2008 18:32

I Love Spock:
I've previously searched for my first & last name on Myspace and couldn't find it without signing into Myspace first.
As far as your admittedly biased opinion that getting removed from Spock doesn't make much sense, that is definitely a biased opinion. I've now known multiple people whose information that was SUPPOSED to be kept from public view on their social networking profiles managed to pop up on Spock without their knowledge. Maybe you all should check out your "crawler" to see if it's working as you say it does. Spock's so-called solution is to have people register with the site just to have their information removed and that's ridiculous. That's like a girl scout telling someone that she'll put their private info in the paper unless they buy a box of cookies from her. At least registering is free, but it still shouldn't be necessary.

When "removing the source of information" you should keep in mind that even if your Myspace, Friendster, Facebook profiles are set to private, you may still have a public listing that can be reindexed.
Are you saying that even if we set our profiles to private we still have to periodically check Spock and delete the information all over again?!?!
THAT IS A VIOLATION OF PRIVACY.
amesmb asked a question in Spock on April 04, 2008 22:36:
How long does it take for information to be removed?I really really DON'T want my information on Spock and have gone through the necessary steps to have it removed but it's still there. How long does it take for it to be removed?-

I'm having the same problem. If I had an account that allowed my full name & everything to be public then that's one thing, but the information the Spock is displaying is NOT PUBLIC!!!! I take lots of steps to keep my info private; all of my blog entries are friends only, I don't mention my last name- usually not even my first name- ANYWHERE on the site, etc. Yet Spock thinks nothing of putting it out there without my knowledge. I've jumped through the necessary hoops of having my information removed but it's still there. Any ideas on how long it should take? If it takes too long then I'd like to get on the phone with somebody....
