Hey Angie - right now, you're SOL. The user level setting applies to all of GigPress (with the exception of the Settings, as in WordPress, settings are for admins only).

I could add a user level setting for each individual area, but that seems a bit much. One thought I had was to apply the WordPress role model to GigPress, i.e. Contributors can only submit pending gigs, Authors can publish them, but not edit others, etc. This would actually do away with the need for a setting for user access in GigPress altogether.

Essentially, treat gigs as WP treats posts.

Something to think on. But for now - I can't offer you a solution. Sorry!

Hmm, very odd. Maybe take a peek at your database and see if you have a bunch of empty rows in there? It also seems like you might have multiple artists entered under the same name?

Try adding group_artists=no to the shortcode and see what happens.

I do believe they did some customizing there, but you could achieve something very similar by editing the templates to link the venue name to the related post (or more simply just use the date or city via the settings) and display each gig's info in a related post.

A cool idea Gary, once which has crossed my mind, but the intricacies of it make me a little nauseous. Really, this would need to be heavily moderated and QA'd, and would need a dedicated server to back it up. Perhaps more than a free plugin can offer.

But a cool idea nonetheless!

You can import shows from a CSV file, which is a way to add a bunch of shows at once, but GigPress has no "recurring event" functionality.

You're totally right, didn't think of this. The only solution I can think of off the top of my head is to expand the post dropdown to list more posts. But how far to go? 1000 posts? 5000 posts? More? Memory becomes an issue at some point.

Hey Patrick - you need to add "group_artists=no" - venue filtering doesn't work when grouping by artist. Let me know if that fixes this for you.

If you're using the Notes field for this, you can customize the template to show the Notes field in a separate column. No plans for a theme/topic field at present.

I suggest installing the Firebug extension for Firefox, and using it to identify the classes being applied to the parts of the page you're unhappy with, and in which style sheets they are defined, so you can change them.
