We changed BumpTop's behavior so that when you move files around, they don't bump into other items and mess up your desktop. The behavior was fun but it can be frustrating when you have a nice layout! However, once you let go the physics kick in and items get bumped around, so if you throw something it will bump into items after you let go.
The ability to flip through items like a book is coming soon :)

btw i tried your suggested problem solution, but it didnt work...same error at the end of install process... i tried to reinstall several times ,btw i have XP SP2
Thx for helo and great support
so long Michael from Austria
btw: when i drag a folder or file and drag it around the desktop no other icons are moving but shouldnt they mess around like they did in the video? couldnt find the function where you can flip trough the files like a book. dont know if its not implemented or a symptom of my error...

Then how come mine hasn't come. I've read that some people have only waited a week to a month. I've waited a year, and recently got a new e-mail account. I signed up again about two months ago and still nothing. – Niko Kruzel, on August 27, 2008 20:47

About Microsoft Surface and BumpTop-- Microsoft Surface is primarily a multitouch hardware platform. Microsoft has written applications for it of course but no general purpose desktop application as far as we know. BumpTop is software that completely replaces your desktop with a new 3D, physics enabled desktop. So, actually, Microsoft Surface would be a great platform for BumpTop--they're not mutually exclusive.
