Hi again,
We've finished conducting a large scale testing with several email clients and we were unable to replicate the same error.
Did you had any more errors like this one?
Is it possible to send the email again to the same recipient and check if the same problem remains (and also give us some info on the email client your respondent is using)?
Thanks!

Hello,
We've been researching this problem.
All the emails that were sent (including the one with the problem) had the correct URL for the link.
So we think that the user email client is responsible for rewriting the URL (perhaps because it was identified as spam or for security reasons).
We're still investigating it, and will contact as soon as we have a more definitive answer.
Thanks

Hi again,
This is very strange, we've looked into our logs. and everything is fine.
All of the emails that were sent have the correct URL (on both the text and link): http://script.questionform.com/public...
Let me know if you can provide us with the original email.
Thanks for your help,

Hi!
That's strange. It doesn't seem possible.
We are currently looking into our logs to try to understand it.
Is there any possibility of providing us with the email? (support@questionform.com)
Thanks.

Andre Goncalves replied on March 04, 2009 14:45 to the question "duplicate entries and invitation link" in questionform:
Hi,
Regarding the duplicate detection this is how it works:
1. Browser session.
This is the basic mechanism, after a response is submitted and the user returns to the survey (without closing his browser) he will not be allowed to create a new response. If he closes the browser and returns then a new response will be created.
2. IP Address
Only one response is allowed for each IP address. If the user with the same IP address returns he will be unable to submit again.
3. Cookie
A cookie is saved on the respondent's browser, and when he returns questionform detects it and doesn't allow him to submit a response again.
Regarding the invitation email, the use of the template variable %email% allows you to track who has respondedt.
When the mail is sent, the %email% will be replaced by the respondent's email address.
If you expect the email to be forward to several users, please remove the %email% from the link, otherwise you will get only one distinct response for that email (the last one will overwrite all previous ones).
Unfortunately you will loose all tracking capability.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks
Andre

That is strange.
The %email% is correct, that's a placeholder where we replace with the email address of each of your mailing list entries, and so we can track who has responded and also you can associate a response with a specific email address (that's what we call session id).
Perhaps the first link was not correct?
Are you sure about the session id? I checked and entry 86 has an email associated with it.
And please do forward the email, that would be helpful.
Thanks,
Andre Goncalves replied on January 06, 2009 14:46 to the problem "trouble with email alert and total number of answers" in questionform:
Hello,
The responses with the same number occur when a respondent corrects an already existing response. Because you used the mailing list system, those answers were received using the hyperlink associated with an email address (on the responses page click the special fields button and select session id to find the email associated with entry 86).
Regarding the second question, the number that appears on the email is not going to be equal to the total number of responses if some responses were deleted. I did check your survey responses, and it seems at least that entries 1 to 9 were deleted.
Does it make any sense?
Andre
