If the base of the cam buckle is cracked or broken you should fill out our warranty form on our website. But, we're starting to do repairs so state that you'd like us to fix the cam buckle so we can sew in a new one for you if the base is cracked. if its just the flap part you can just pop that new one in there...
Andrew asked a question in Timbuk2 on March 18, 2008 19:23:
Cam buckle replacement? If my cam buckle happens to break, will the replacement buckle work? It appears that the bottom portion of the cam buckle is sewn in & I'm not sure if it's possible to replace it. I see that the top portion of the cam buckle might be able to pop into the fixed bottom portion, but what happens if the whole buckle busts?

This is one of those questions that I'm much better answering in person, but here goes: Check that the strap goes down through the cam buckle, loops around and then back up through the secondary buckle. Make sure there isn't too much of that strap going back up into the cam buckle. It's not designed for multiple layers. When the strap is shortened it should leave a big loop. Hope that helps!

Cam buckle won't stay put!I have a brand new Classic Messenger bag & the cam buckle seems loose. When I'm not wearing the bag the buckle seems to flip up a tad. When there's a load in the bag it appears to tighten down. The strap never slips (so far).
If I need to shorten the length of the strap I have to double up the excess strap & run it through the buckle; when this happens I can't close the buckle at all. Is this normal?
