Aha! Thanks; others might face this, too, so we'll try to fix things so that it won't crop up. Can you say what version of PHP and of Smarty you're using? – ezrakilty, on July 25, 2008 14:28

In the file Sprinkles.php, near the top, there are two lines that begin with set_exception_handler and set_error_handler. If you remove these lines (or comment them by putting # at the beginning of each line) then errors should go to the web page.
It may also be worthwhile double-checking that all the files of the distribution arrived correctly. Maybe themes/default/templates/minidashboard.t is corrupted? – ezrakilty, on July 25, 2008 10:49

Yes, everything else in Help Center (AFAIK) works fine, it's just the minidashboard.
I'm in a shared hosting environment, so error logs are not easy to get to. Can you give instructions for a way of displaying errors to the screen, at least temporarily? – Andrew Smith, on July 23, 2008 10:54

Minidashboard.php is blankUsing a self-installed Help Center, clicking on minidashboard.php brings up a totally blank page after logging in.
Is it a template I'm missing? The rest of the system works fine.

seems like a security concern for pbwiki.. they probably don't want to provide an automated way to create new wikis... in fact I'll bet that they do things specifically to prevent that from being possible..
Have you considered pre-generating the wikis and then assigning them to people when they go through your api?
They'd have names like mysiteswiki01.pbwiki.com, mysiteswiki02.pbwiki.com, etc but you change the title to be what they wanted... additionally, you could recycle wikis if your users abandon them.
Cameron Walters replied on July 17, 2008 17:00 to the question "Can I link topics to specific items on my e-commerce site?" in Get Satisfaction:
Both the API, which powers Help Center, and our topic widgets allow you to retrieve topics filtered by tag, or by product.
I would highly suggest trying out the topic widgets. Right now, you can place one of each type of widget on an HTML page, making them pretty much perfect (and only 2 lines of code!) for a product details page on your e-commerce site.

Products are easy to associate with topics in Get Satisfaction, and we have plans to improve the topic-product association UI when people are entering topics. I'd guess that we'll have a chance to work on that UI within the next 3-4 months. Weve got some major things to finish before we will be able to get to solve that particular UI puzzle.

Can I link topics to specific items on my e-commerce site?I will be using Help Center to power my e-commerce site's FAQs and general support.
However, I am also considering integrating Help Center on the individual product pages, so that users can ask questions specifically about those products. For example, "Does this digital camera work well in low-light conditions?". We have about 800 products at the moment.
Would this be achieved with tags that are the same as the product name/code, which the API could return for each page?
Or is there a better way?
