Mac recorder upload process needs to run as a daemon. We have discovered that the Mac recorder does not continue to upload if a user logs out of the computer. This differs from the Windows recorder, where the upload process runs as a daemon or service that continues to function regardless of whether a user logs out.
We are testing on 2.2 by the way.

So basically there is no way to automatically create thumbnails/chapter markers/timestamps for non-powerpoint content? Ideally these would be created automatically when a certain percentage of the frame changes, or at a regular interval.
Could I make a feature request? :)

P.S.: I suppose this might be possible via hardware... some sort of motion capture camera?-

How to create a recording with chapters or thumbnails? How do you create thumbnails or chapter markers for non-Powerpoint content within a recording? Something along the lines of the secondary video source (the chalkboard) in this example:
http://v2.panopto.com/CourseCast/View...
Is this a function of the Panopto software, or the camera/capture device?
Thanks!

Andrew Cunningham asked a question in Panopto on June 23, 2009 20:48:
Setting default permissions for recordingsIs it possible to set default permissions for recordings within a class/folder so that they can be viewed/edited only by one particular student plus the instructor?
For example, each student in a class would be able to see their own recordings, but not those of the other students. It seems that by default everyone can see everyone else's recordings.
There does appear to be a way to set an ACL on the course/folder that each recording would inherit. This would allow the instructor to access all student recordings, but would not help with the default permissions on new recordings.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Upload to iTunes University? Are there any plans to integrate Panopto with 3rd-party media repositories, specifically iTunes U? We would like to have the ability to save our Panopto recordings to someplace other than the Coursecast server.-

Andrew Cunningham replied on June 16, 2009 15:04 to the question "Can the Mac recorder capture multiple video sources?" in Panopto:
Eric:
Absolutely, here's an overview of what we are trying to accomplish in our College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences:
Students will perform mock patient examinations and/or consultations in small private rooms. We have two Sony PTZ cameras in each room. One will be trained on the examination table, and the other will have a wider angle (for observing patient gait, etc.). These need to be captured simultaneously, along with high quality audio.
I would be happy to email you to discuss this further; I will do so after submitting this reply.

Can the Mac recorder capture multiple video sources? We are testing the Mac recorder, and there does not appear to be a way to record multiple video sources. Is there something that I am missing, or is this not currently possible? Could this be added to the final release? It is imperative that the Mac recorder be able to capture two cameras in our implementation. Thanks!

Live broadcast is crashingLive broadcast crashes every time in Panopto recorder 2.1 on Windows XP on our test machine. We are aware of the current bug/limitation with "high quality" video and live broadcast; we are using web/lower quality and still see crashes. Please see the attached screenshot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.-
