Actually due to a known hiccup with the AppStore itself it was impossible to rerelease the application under the old name. Once removed from sale there are no affordances to bring an application back. In the end releasing it under a slightly different name was the only way forward.

Make sure you check to see if you are online. Those errors are also consistent with not having network coverage.

Want to join the Tapulous beta program?

Here at Tapulous headquarters we are cooking up some cool stuff. New revisions to some of our popular apps, as well as some totally awesome new apps. People keep emailing us to get a sneak peak or ask us when an app is going to ship.

Well, welcome to the official Tapulous beta program! We are opening the doors to some of our most loyal customers to get first glimpse, and provide feedback on our apps in development. We want you guys to help us create even better, bug-free apps. Only 80 places are available and we expect demand to outpace supply on this one.

If you are interested in joining just follow these instructions:

* Plug your phone into your computer and boot up iTunes. Click on the iPhone and then where it says "Name, Capacity, Software Version, Serial Number and Phone Number" click on the label "Serial Number". This will change to Identifier and show you a large string. This is the unique identifier of your phone
* Carefully write this number down and email it to beta@tapulous.com together with your name, location and the reason why you think you would make a great beta tester (if previous jobs have ingrained the words "steps to reproduce" then we are speaking the same language)

And if you don't want to be a part and see cool stuff first ... then all you can do is stay tuned for some great announcements soon.

Should be up again now. We had a planned server outage to upgrade the system and make way for some cool new features coming soon.

We are going through a planned outage on our servers in order to upgrade and add some new exciting features. Check back in an hour or so and hopefully all will be up and running again.

We had a planned maintenance outage on the servers. Service should be back up and running within the hour. We were making room for some exciting new features that are coming soon.

Server upgrade for Tapulous

Thanks to the community for helping us to grow even faster than we imagined. As a result we need to take our servers offline for approximately 60-90 minutes at 11PM pacific time on Wednesday 20 August in order to do a major upgrade. This upgrade will add addition capacity and help to improve the overall service and speed.

Additionally this upgrade will herald in new versions of TTR and Twinkle over the coming week or so. Thanks again for your support an keep Tapping/Twinkling.

We are in the middle of getting out a 1.2 release of Twinkle that will include blocking and reporting users. In the meantime, please contact us as info AT tapulous DOT com to report any inappropriate behavior. We are interested in involving the community is set appropriate community standards.

In Twinkle 1.1 you can add friends by selecting "Follow" on the ping details screen. Fro then on, all that persons messages will show up on your home screen. You can think of a "follow" like a one-way friendship. As for favoriting/archiving messages, we are working on that for a future release as it is a much requested feature. Thanks and keep twinkling.

At present Twinkle does not have complete support for Twitter private accounts. If you choose to not broadcast your location then your posts will not show up to other Twinkle users. If you broadcast your location then your posts will show up in the near me screen. As always, we are refining our product based on feedback such as this. Stay tuned for more updates to Twinkle very soon.

It means that this person you are following isn't a member of Twitter. So in the short term you can only find that person on Twinkle.

Twinkle works for both Twitter users and Twinkle-only users. That means that there are a subset of users that you can talk to and connect with that are not on Twitter and therefore the interactions will not appear on Twitter.

We understand this can be a little confusing and so we are going to add some indications of what network a person is from so that this confusion hopefully goes away.

Look out for 1.2 of Twinkle in a few weeks time and thanks for your support.
