Hey Ken!
We sent them out on Monday @ 1:35pm - maybe check your junk mail? Try putting groupon@thepoint.com in your address book to make sure it comes through. We're sending it again right now... post back here if you don't get it. :)

Andrew Mason asked a question in MailChimp on January 20, 2009 06:40:
Starting a transactional email campaign on an existing listHi,
I'd like to set up a transactional email campaign for welcoming new members to my list, as described here: http://www.mailchimp.com/blog/transac...
Reading the problem, I foresee a problem with step 4.2:
> 4.2 Call campaignSendNow() to send to everyone who has not received this before
The problem is, my list already has 5,000 old subscribers that I don't want to receive this welcome email.
How can I make sure my "welcome" email campaign will only be sent to new subscribers?
Thanks!
Andrew

"Opens over time" reportWould be nice to see a report showing how many people are opening my email over a time (to the hour or the minute)

"more often" -
Here's a cool segmenting option:
Send to the [x = top/bottom] [y = 10]% of my list as ranked by [z = open rate/click rate/other things]
or, send to anyone who opens more than [x = 25]% of the emails I send.
I don't really need any fancy AIM reports from you... just give me the data in a spreadsheet and I'll build my own. I think that's the best place to start, for what it's worth, since everyone is going to want a different view of their data.

More detailed AIM reporting? Is it possible to get more detailed AIM reporting - e.g. if I want to see or segment my list based on people who open the email more often? Or if I want to look at a specific user and see which emails they opened?-

Hey Carla - sorry about the delay!
For Groupons that run over the weekend, we don't process the entire batch until the deal is closed, on Monday morning. The reason for this is that we need to send the vendor a single, comprehensive list of everyone who has purchased a Groupon.
Sorry about the confusion caused by the email that states 24 hours - that's our fault and we'll fix it immediately.
We'll send you the Groupon first thing Monday morning. Let me know if you have other questions!

Thanks for your response, Garrett.
Regarding your response to Robby's skitch idea, not all people upload Skitch to the skitch server - I upload it to my own domain, so the url is indistinguishable from other image urls.
Two questions..
1. Why not just make markup languages (Markdown, Textile, restricted html) a setting that is disabled by default?
2. I'm curious if you've actually seen/read evidence that a markup language like Markdown interferes with less-technical users? I'd think that if it's too technical for someone, they could just not use it. There are very few situations where Markdown syntax overlaps with normal writing in a way that would generate unexpected and confusing results.
Easy/quick screenshot uploads are the key feature for a bugtracking system, in my opinion. It's why we use FogBugz, even though we hate almost everything else about it.

Markdown supportOther than email integration, Markdown is the other thing I'd need to buy Sifter.
I capture screenshots using Skitch, and upload them to another server - I just want an easy way to display that uploaded image, rather than uploading images using the web interface.
Thanks!

> there should be an option to NOT send the photo to the Library as well
I agree. After you take the photo, on the screen where you're entering its title/description/tags, have a checkbox that reads:
[x] Save to my Camera Roll
or something like that. If I uncheck that box, it deletes the photo from the camera roll after successful upload. – andrewmason, on July 15, 2008 15:08
