I'm totally impressed with the speed and level of support you've offered. This solved the problem. I save images for our typepad sites all the time and have never had this problem before. I'm still not sure what I did differently. I wonder if this newest version of Internet Explore 8 changed something? Thanks so much! I went onto google and fixed the map of my business. On google it's now fixed but brightkite still needs to update their maps.

I agree with the suggestion of pushing updates to ping.fm. I switched from using twitter as my primary to ping about 1 month ago. I love that it updates my twitter, facebook, myspace, linkedin and the list goes on. I continue to push updates to brightkite directly but those location updates only push to twitter which leaves out so many friends.
