Redfoo--the "Poor Signal" alert is not bound to the quality of the phone's 3g connection, although I can see where that confusion could occur. We have some performance and quality improvements in the works, but for the time being, the best way to avoid these issues when you don't have access to a trusted connection is to use Record & Upload on the Kyte Mobile Producer app. It's not as immediate, but gives you greater flexibility. Thanks.
Andy Markham replied on February 17, 2009 19:23 to the problem "Can't see the names on the chat and the pages have 2 different languages on it!!" in Kyte:
Hi Sara--
Could you give me the following pieces of information?:
1. Basic breakdown of your system--OS, Browser (Version #included), which version of Flash you're using.
2. You say your language is set to English, and I'm assuming from your screenshot you're referring to the Kyte site. I wonder if you see the same behavior when you view the Kyte player embedded on a different site? (For an example, look here: http://mudfootreflux.blogspot.com/
at the topmost player on the blog.)
A few measures you might want to try in the interim to remedy the situation--
1) Clear your browser cache
2) Right click on the Kyte player, then select "Settings". Click on the Storage Settings tab with the Folder icon. Set the Local Storage to "0", then close the dialog, Hit Reload on your browser; when you try to use the player, the Storage Settings dialog will reappear, and you can set it back to 10-100kb.
Thanks.

We've recently had to restructure some of the services we offer, and the advanced embed option has been moved to part of our fee-based services. If you'd like to upgrade, please use the link below. Thanks.
While recognizing that ideally we would be able to address and resolve each user's issues right away, the demands of our paid services, and the size of our staff are such that we can't always--or even regularly--achieve this ideal. Thanks for your input and patience.

Andy Markham replied on December 12, 2008 21:19 to the question "Video Camcorder live feed available?" in Kyte:
Yes--connect your camcorder to your computer, then right click on the Kyte player and select "Settings" in the resulting menu, then select your camcorder from the dropdown menu and click "Close".
Then, click the "Produce" tab in the upper right hand of the player, and click on Webcam in the resulting screen, select the "Live" checkbox, and click Record.

Andy Markham replied on October 30, 2008 20:56 to the problem "CamTwist is no longer working" in Kyte:
Hi Craig--
Something to try--with no guarantees, just crossed fingers ;-)
1) Since you're on Mac, can you open up iMovie, and select the Cam Twist within that app, and record a few seconds of video? Then return to Kyte, and see if you can successfully choose CamTwist.
or
2) In the Adobe Flash player settings, deliberately select iSight camera (I believe it's usually called USB Video Class), close Settings dialog, record a few seconds of video. Then go back to settings, and try to set it to Cam Twist.
3) Also in the Adobe Flash player settings, you can try to set the storage capacity to "0", then try to set the camera.
I have occasionally found these methods to work--please let us know if you have any luck.

Happy to report that an N96-compatible build of Kyte Mobile Producer is now available here:
http://s60.kyte.tv
It is also compatible with other Symbian OS 3.2/FP2 handsets, including the N78.
Cheers.
Andy Markham replied on October 24, 2008 20:27 to the question "Embending on Blogger unavailable. Linking either." in Kyte:
We haven't been able to reproduce this issue, either by copying the embed code in Blogger or using the Gigya widget to post it, we are in all cases able to embed and view the player successfully. We recommend using the Gigya widget that displays when you click Get & Share--click on the "Blogger" button, enter your login info , and Post. If it shows as successful, you should be able to view it on your blog.

Andy Markham replied on October 23, 2008 16:12 to the question "Connection problems. Closed live streams" in Kyte:
The current version of Kyte Mobile Producer does not support feature pack 2 phones, such as the N78 or the N96. However, we are in the process of validating a new version which will support these phones, and hope to make it available very soon. We will post an announcement on Get Satisfaction when it's ready. Thanks.

Hi Chris--the only carrier we have verified to work in the UK is T Mobile. Below is a link to a Nokia streaming radio application which has failed/succeeded pretty much in parallel with the Kyte Producer app when tested in the UK.

If you're up for trying to see if the above fails in the same way, or has some other behavior, we would certainly welcome the feedback. Thanks.
