We're still working on finding the root of this problem. Some fixes that have worked in various situations:
- Have another Admin try to change the security on a folder.
- Change the "http://yourwiki.pbwiki.com..." URL to "httpS://yourwiki.pbwiki.com..." and try changing the folder security again.
I can't tell you why either of these fixes work, but sometimes they do.
If you try both these things and still can't change the folder security, click the "Help" link on your wiki, scroll down, and choose "Contact support"
We'll be able to help you from there.

I did write to you, Vu. I hope you rec'd it. Getting the blank page that says, "folder doesn't exist" is now a much more serious issue because we can't release our wiki w/o the folder security working. We actually purchased this wiki specifically for the security in the 2.0 version. Please let me know ASAP when this bug is fixed. I think we have moved beyond frustrated. – margaret, on June 12, 2008 14:57

This sounds like a bug I would like to see for myself. Margaret, would you mind sending us an email at support[at]pbwiki[dot]com so we can take a look at this bug in detail? Thanks! – Vu Nguyen, on May 30, 2008 02:57

I also have this problem.
Am setting security on a variety of folders in a private wiki.
All show in the list, ergo, all exist. All allow me to change them to Custom Security; but, when I save the new settings in many, I get a blank page that says, "folder doesn't exist" at the top.
Once the message said that I could not have periods in the page name; we do not have periods in the page names.

Cool. So we don't get censured for off-topics posts, would you mind explaining over here just how you control the display of items that have no unique ID? Thanks.

I did it. I could, under a previous incarnation of 2.0, insert some style code into a page that made those things disappear. But PBwiki removed the ability to do this: insert arbitrary code into HTML plugin.
You can still accomplish this by custom CSS and/or wikiwide custom HTML (paid features, likely).

You can't. You could, under PBwiki 1.0, but PBwiki 2.0 has removed or eliminated the ability to do this. See our blog post for more information.

I have tried to embed a Voicethread (www.voicethread.com) into a V2 wiki without success - I guess your "code stripping" is not allowing it. As an experiment I just tried to embed a google map and, unfortunately, that didn't work for me either.

Hi Rachel, does Yack Pack enable asynchronous voice recording? I used it a while ago and think it was for synchronous conversations. In addition to being asynchronous, Voicethread has a function that allows you to scribble on the picture that is being commented on, which is particularly useful. Take a look:

Hi Andy,
We do have a voicethread on PBwiki- called Yack Pack. Unfortunately it's been down for about a month or so and we haven't heard back from YackPack about a fix timeline. I've been searching for another program that might serve the same purpose but have not found something satisfactory. Can anyone else weigh in on a voice chat program that they've found useful?
