Andy Budd set one of Andy Budd's replies as an official response to "Export file size changeable?" in Clearleft
Andy Budd replied on November 12, 2009 09:37 to the idea "Export file size changeable?" in Clearleft:
Hi Stephen,
The exported files size is a product of several factors including the resolution of the test subjects screen, the size you choose to output the movie at, and the quality of said output.
To give you a rough comparison, If you are capturing activity on a standard 13inch MacBook your resolution is about 1.3 times a regular HD movie. On a larger iMac screen this is closer to 2 times HD resolution. Even with the best codecs you can't generally get a 1:30 HD movie down much below 1.5 GB and they're normally between 3-5GB. As such, 3GB for a half hour, higher than HD resolution movie sounds about right to me.
However if you wish to reduce the files size further, there are a couple of things you can do. First of all you can reduce the resolution on the capture machine. Out of all the things you can do, this will have the biggest affect. If you change it to 1024x780 from 1280x960 you should see about a 30% reduction in file size.
Secondly you can reduce the export size (through the export preference pane). Halving the export size should have a similar affect on the file size. Lastly, if you reduce the export quality to medium, this will use the highest level h.264 compression which in our testing produced the lowest size to quality ration.
Hope that helps.

Hey Folks,
Thankfully we've only had a few small issues on Snow Leopard and most of them will be fixed with the next release (coming soon).
The one issue we've been unable to fix is the erratic behaviour of the Apple remote under Snow Leopard. This is a know bug that Apple have introduced and we hope it'll be fixed in the next update. In the meantime, here's a third party plug-in that should fix any remote issues you've been having.

Andy Budd replied on October 20, 2009 21:34 to the problem "Silverback won't register!" in Clearleft:
OK folks, quick question. Are you all using gmail to collect your mail? It seems that gmail has started automatically renaming the registration files, appending them with a .xml suffix. We're going to look into how we can prevent this from happening in the future, but in the meantime could you try removing the .xml suffix and let me know if that works.
If you're not using gmail or it's not renaming the files, then something else must be up, so can you let me know.
Thanks in advance guys

Hey Kosta, just wondering if you could send those crash logs over so we can look into this issue for you? – Andy Budd, on October 18, 2009 22:10

We've only had one person reporting crashes on 10.6 and believe we have a fix. Are you experiencing this problem as well? If so, can you send me your crash logs and we'll see if it's down to the same problem? – Andy Budd, on October 18, 2009 21:28

The 30 day trial is completely unlimited so all the licence does is extend your use beyond those 30 days. As such, you should be fine for your test next week. – Andy Budd, on October 18, 2009 16:00

Hey Takaran, can you send over the file you're trying to register with so we can double check it on our system. We've successfully checked registrations here so it could be something specific about your file. – Andy Budd, on October 15, 2009 13:33

OK, it sounds like it could be a bug with 10.6.1 so I'll ask our engineers to look into it. In the meantime, if you let me know the email address you used to register the app I'll send you a refund. – Andy Budd, on October 15, 2009 12:28

Hi Takaran,
Could you shut the app down, delete the preferences and empty your trash, then open up the app, and drag your licence onto the licence pane in the preferences panel. – Andy Budd, on October 15, 2009 10:43
