andyk reported a problem in Flypaper on March 03, 2009 20:39:
Flypaper not openingFlypaper not opening correctly.
I haven't used Flypaper for a week or two while I have been working on other projects, and now I need to make some edits to a story. It appears to open ok, but the the initial splash screen freezes at "opening page editor" and the 'time left' bar is frozen at the very end and I cannot do anything other than go to task manager and kill the process. This has now happened three times in a row and it will not open correctly. Can someone advise me what the problem might be?

andyk asked a question in Flypaper on February 11, 2009 14:50:
To Undo or not Undo?CTRL-Z keystroke does not seem to follow the "standard" Undo command of undoing the last action. For instance if I delete a text box and decide that I don't want to delete it, CTRL-Z does not restore it. Is this deliberate? CTRL-Z is pretty much the standard undo command and it would be nice to have a number of undo steps as you can in other programs. Thanks.

Previewing a group of pagesIs it possible to preview a group of pages as opposed to either the whole story or just a single page? If not this would be an excellent addition to future versions.

andyk asked a question in Flypaper on February 09, 2009 19:20:
editing the index.html page when a story is saved as a web project.Web Project question. I have saved a story as a web project to run on our web servers. The story will be opening in a pop up, fixed size window.
With the default settings, the pop up window opens immediately when the index.html page loads, however I would like to be able to have the user click a link on the index page and open the pop up window when they have read other content on the index.html page.
Can someone point me to what part of the javascript on the index.html page needs to be edited in order to achieve this? Thanks.

andyk reported a problem in Flypaper on February 09, 2009 16:56:
Version 2.0 UpdatesThis concerns the new 2.0 (Beta?) version of Flypaper. Clicking the 'Collaborate' choice in the Tools menu causes Flypaper to crash. If this is not something I can use (if for example I am not an Enterprise user), shouldn't the choice be made non-available to me?
Also the update makes reference to an SDK, but there is no indication of where this is or who it is available for. More information needed on these updates please!!

maximum number of pages in a story??Is there an absolute or a logical limit to the maximum number of pages that you can have in a single Flypaper story?
andyk replied on February 03, 2009 16:04 to the problem "Story in embedded in web page shifts downward before transition" in Flypaper:
I too have started to see this problem in a new story I am putting together as a demo for a client. If you save it as a web project and have it open in a pop up window the "jump" happens when you transition to the next page. If you have it open in a full browser window it does not occur. I would like to have this open at a fixed size as it looks a lot better, but cannot demo it to the client while the page is jumping in this fashion. Why can't anyone from Flypaper address this bug???-

andyk replied on January 21, 2009 15:05 to the question "Can I Lose the Embed, Email, and Get Link Links in a SCORM Module?" in Flypaper:
Hi Robby. Sorry I see what you mean now. It seems that the navigation controls and the links are connected and you either have them turned on or turned off completely. This would seem to be a very unfriendly way of handling this, but I'm not too surprised as one or two things in the Flypaper application do not seem to be handled too well.
It looks like the only way you can have this is to create your own custom navigation buttons and have them on every page. I do it this way, but only because I prefer to have more control over the placement of the controls.
andyk replied on January 21, 2009 14:05 to the question "Can I Lose the Embed, Email, and Get Link Links in a SCORM Module?" in Flypaper:
When you have a project and select "Save As" a web project from the file menu, you have the option of not selecting 'Show Flypaper controls'. Likewise, the same option shows up when you choose "E-Learning Course" from the Save As menu. Making sure the box for 'show flypaper controls' is unchecked should give you what you need.
Now my question is, why has this question from a user gone unanswered on this forum for 5 days?? Should this site be renamed "Get Little or No Satisfaction from Flypaper staff"???
A comment on the question "Did flypaper subscription go from $120/year to $795?" in Flypaper:
To keep things straight. I did receive a reply yesterday from Flypaper explaining their reasons for the price increase. I do not agree with them, but I won't post them here as I believe that is something that they should be responsible for themselves.
Then existing users can make up their own minds if they want to pay the increase on a year-to-year basis or not. – andyk, on January 07, 2009 14:20

It's interesting that nobody from the company seems to want to address or comment on this issue.
I e-mailed the company directly last week asking for some explanation of why this was done without any notification to their existing customers after they had been very proactive in notifying us of updates, holding webinars etc. But so far no reply.

I am absolutely STUNNED at this piece of news. Not only by the close to 800% price jump, but by the fact that Flypaper, which up to this point has been one of the most pleasant companies to deal with, COULD NOT BE BOTHERED TO INFORM EXISTING CUSTOMERS WHAT WAS GOING ON.
This is one of the worst displays of customer service I have experienced in years. This is the same company that sends out regular emails to its customers to keep us informed on on updates, holds webinars for its users in order to inform and educate them in the best ways to use of the product, but THEY COULD NOT BE BOTHERED to let us know that the price was jumping by over $600 a year.
I was a happy user of Flypaper and I will continue to use it, but I will not be paying this increase and will not recommend that anyone else in my company uses it. If you're going to rob us, why not let your existing users know you are going to do it?? I suggest you replace the video of the CEO saying that the price of Flypaper is $120 a year.
Yeh, happy new year to all of you out there, and remember this company appears to have ceased to care about its users.
