Angela replied on January 11, 2008 16:53 to the question "I received a GetVerified request, how does that work? What do I do?" in BeenVerified.com:
Congratulations! That means someone out there is pretty interested in hiring you or just learning more about who you are and what you have accomplished. The first step is to Sign up Here and have your Identity verified. Once we verify your identity, you can then add any additional credentials that have been requested from you. Membership is free to sign up and once you create your BeenVerified Profile you can email the person who contacted you and let them know you have BeenVerified! If you have any questions, you can always call us at 1-866-946-Been or Email US.
Angela replied on January 11, 2008 16:52 to the question "What is the sign up and identity verification process?" in BeenVerified.com:
The sign up process is easy and takes less than 2 minutes to complete. We simply ask you to fill out some personal information, create a personal Web Address, and enter your credit card info (which will NOT be charged). We use credit card data for identity verification purposes. You will then receive an email to verify your email address. Once you have done that you will be able to log in to your own personalized Member Console. If you are a US based member you will take a 3 minute questionnaire to verify your identity. If you are located outside the US, you simply need to send specific documentation verifying your identity. International members you will receive instructions of the allowed documentation types upon logging in to your Members Console.

Angela replied on January 11, 2008 16:51 to the question "I see a free trial here? Is it really free?" in BeenVerified.com:
Yes! It is really free and free trial members receive the same benefits as regular members including their Verified Identity, a Verified Profile, top ranked listings in Search Engines (like Google, Yahoo, and MSN) and of course their own BeenVerified Seal. At the end of the trial period if you do not feel that BeenVerified has helped you get more business, earn a higher income, improve your online reputation, or just make you feel better about life in general you can simply cancel your account. If you choose to remain a BeenVerified member you will be charged the normal rate of $9.95 per month which can be paused or canceled at any time.
Angela replied on January 11, 2008 16:50 to the question "How can I use my profile?" in BeenVerified.com:
Typically, profiles are used for people who work online as a freelancer or are in the process of looking for a job. Having a BeenVerified profile is a great way to market yourself and prove to people you are who you say you are. Additionally, it is a quick and easy way to gain trust from someone without having to jump through hoops to prove your accomplishments. Rightly so, people are skeptical when hiring people online or having never met them before. BeenVerified helps remove that initial skepticism by showing potential clients or employers that you have gone the extra step to prove your worth. Showing your BeenVerified Profile gives you an instant advantage over the other candidates. Additional uses of the BeenVerified Profile extend to places like online dating, social networking, and online buying and selling like on Craigslist or Ebay. Businesses have also seen increased sales and the benefit of having their company and staff BeenVerified. If you are a business Contact US for more information.

Angela replied on January 11, 2008 16:49 to the question "Is the profile and my verified credential information released publicly?" in BeenVerified.com:
Only if you want it to be. BeenVerified was built specifically to allow YOU to choose what information you would like public and who should be able to see it. We make no decisions about who should see your Verified Profile or any parts of the Profile. You control every piece of the profile and decide what to make public or private.
Angela replied on January 11, 2008 16:48 to the question "How much does a BeenVerified Profile cost?" in BeenVerified.com:
Your BeenVerified Profile, Identity, and top ranking Search Engine Marketing are all included in the monthly membership fee of $9.95 (after the free trial ends). The only additional costs associated with BeenVerified are if you choose to add additional credential verifications. Credential Verifications are charged on a per verification basis and are $10/per verification that takes place within the US and $35/per verification if it must be verified from an International source. Please check the BeenVerified Credential Price List for detailed information about specific credential verifications.

Angela replied on January 11, 2008 16:47 to the question "What Verified Credentials can I add to my Profile?" in BeenVerified.com:
BeenVerified is capable of verifying almost anything that can be pulled from a public database or from a third-party source. Some of our more popular verifications are Work Experience, Education, References, and Professional Licenses. There are numerous other verifications we can perform (like criminal history or fraudulent activity) and we can even perform custom verifications if needed. Contact Us if you need customized services.
Angela replied on January 11, 2008 16:47 to the question "What is the cost and turnaround time for credential verifications?" in BeenVerified.com:
The cost for a credential is charged on a per verification basis. Some credentials last for as long as you are a BeenVerified Member and some need to be renewed. Turnaround time depends on the credential but generally isn’t more than a two days. Please check the BeenVerified Credential Price List for more info.
Angela replied on January 11, 2008 16:46 to the question "What is the process for getting my profile listed as a top ranking search engines like Google, Yahoo, or MSN?" in BeenVerified.com:
The “Search Engine Marketing” program is where we enter your name into Google, Yahoo, and MSN for premium listing within the search engine results. That means anytime someone searches “Your Name”, the top results will direct them right to BeenVerified information about you. This is a great way for you to take advantage of pointing potential clients, associates, or long lost friends directly to your verified contact information and your verified accomplishments/credentials.
Angela replied on January 11, 2008 16:46 to the question "How long does the sign up and activation process take?" in BeenVerified.com:
If you live in the US, you can have your BeenVerified profile up and running within fifteen short minutes. This means you can start showing your Verified Identity to the world in less time than it takes to read the rest of this FAQ. For members outside the US, the process takes about 2-3 days from the time that we receive your material.
Angela replied on January 11, 2008 16:45 to the question "How does the Credential Verification process work? Where does BeenVerified get its information?" in BeenVerified.com:
Upon choosing what credentials you would like us to verify, you will simply submit an order from within your secure Member Console. Once the order is placed, you then need to simply submit some additional information specific to that credential. For example, the school you attended or the name of a previous employer. All of the information you submit will be confirmed but it helps for us to have a starting point of reference. BeenVerified aggregates its information from numerous sources. However, the majority of our verifications come directly from where the credential (event) takes place. Meaning an Education verification is often confirmed directly from the school attended or a Work Experience verification is confirmed directly from the company at which the job was performed. We also have access to proprietary and public databases in which some information may be confirmed or cross-referenced from.

Angela replied on January 11, 2008 16:44 to the question "What is a GetVerified Request?" in BeenVerified.com:
A GetVerified request is free to send and can be used by anyone looking to verify someone’s identity and/or their credentials. If you are thinking about hiring someone from a freelance website or from a job site like Monster, Craigslist, or Yahoo! Hotjobs simply send them a GetVerified Request before hiring them. This will give you piece of mind that they are who they say they are and have accomplished what they claim. Additionally, you can even check that they or their business does not have a history of fraud. Over 50% of people have been found to lie on their resume, add in the anonymity of the Internet and sending a GetVerified request makes sense.
Angela replied on January 11, 2008 16:43 to the question "Why is a GetVerified Request better than a background check?" in BeenVerified.com:
A GetVerified request is better than a background check because it takes the liability, hassle, and cost of running a background check off of your shoulders. If the person you are hiring agrees to become a BeenVerified member, they are doing so voluntarily and on their own accord and using their own money to do so. Additionally, they also gain the benefit of having a BeenVerified account for life which can then be used by your business as a marketing tool. Instead of running the background check and never using it again, you turn it into a positive piece of marketing for your staff to present to potential clients and colleagues.
