Shorten links only when message is over 140 characters longI send Ping.fm updated to Twitter and Facebook. I'm frustrated by unnecessary link shortening when a post is shorter than 140 characters, but I like the idea that Ping.fm can help me out when my posts get too long.
In addition to "always shorten" and "never shorten", I suggest a third policy: "shorten links if longer than 140 characters" (or "shorten links if longer than maximum message length").
For example, "watching my favorite band — http://BandNameHere/" will get sent as is, but in a long message over 140 characters, URLs will get shortened to ensure the message stays within bounds.-

In date picker, move year arrows further away from month arrowsWhen using the date picker, I keep hitting the next year / previous year arrows when I mean to pick the next month / previous month arrows. Traversing months is much more common than traversing years.
It's frustrating when you keep hitting the wrong button. Fitt's Law, folks.
I suggest moving the year buttons out of the way, possibly right next to the current month / year display.
