Anton Litvinenko replied on February 27, 2008 10:28 to the question "What are the technical requirements to start using SourceKibitzer EyeQ service?" in SourceKibitzer:
To crawl and analyze repository with your code, you would need to create read-only repository user that SourceKibitzer EyeQ software will use for crawling. The access can be over any standard protocol specific to your repository. For instance, in case of Subversion (SVN) it can be any of 'svn', 'svn+ssh' or 'http'; similarly, for CVS - 'pserver' or 'ext'.

Let's assume you only would like to grant access to 'myproject/trunk' directory only. In this case the root of the repository as well as myproject and trunk directories should be accessible for SourceKibitzer EyeQ. This could be achieved with following authentication rules:
[myrepository:/]
eyeq_user = r
[myrepository:/myproject/trunk]
eyeq_user = r
[myrepository:/hidden-module]
eyeq_user =

Anton Litvinenko, an employee of SourceKibitzer, started a conversation in SourceKibitzer on December 04, 2007 09:26:
Is it ethical to measure people?We at SourceKibitzer believe that people measurement is by no means unethical. But, people evaluation using measurements without knowing the context and applying intelligence and common sense is dangerous. From our experience, outstanding developers are even glad to be measured as this provides them with additional feedback on their performance. In the end every employee gets measured by a certain salary level. We think, that it is much more ethical to complement management's perception with objective information.
How do you feel about that?
