We changed the login method a little bit - when you login it will ask you on Twitter to verify with which account you want to login. This will remove the confusion of which account you're logging in with.

You did a good job of analyzing the issue and the possible solutions. We had similar thoughts and one of our main concern is where to cut the message as we afraid that if we allow variable length messages, it potentially can include irrelevant parts (like signature).

We still thinking about what will be the best solution. Meanwhile, as you use Gmail you can take advantage of the Count bookmarklet, which lets you know how many chars you typed. Read more here: http://www.gbsheli.com/2009/05/count-...

We moved them to the top of the email (under the user screen name), but it seems that many people miss them, so we're going to put them at the bottom too.
