A comment on the question "apple tv and miro: can they play together?" in Participatory Culture Foundation (Miro):
i get what you're saying, and realize that i worded the question poorly. allow me to rephrase, and then answer the question myself, as i figured out a workaround:
q: how can i get the video files that were torrented through miro (an admittedly overkill bit torrent client if that's all you use it for...) to play on apple tv?
a: take the video file and convert it to an m4v file through handbrake (a free media conversion application for macs). then import the converted file into your itunes library and sync it to your apple tv. of course, there may be a better way, but this works well enough until one is found. – arjuna, on May 28, 2009 18:48

UPDATE 2: 10/1/08 @ 6:30pm Pacific
Aach! I still cannot get twitter to send a valid verification code to my phone so that i can set a web profile. i've already sent an email to crystal directly at twitter, but it was after business hours, so....
anyhow, i'll keep posting updates with any information i get. if anyone else is having the same problem with verizon's blackberry pearls, click the i-have-this-problem-too button. maybe it'll get a little more attention...

1- no, this is a new problem, but it's been around since i got the blackberry (a few weeks ago)
2- yes, the entire message is not legible...
3- no, it happens with replies as well as twits from friends
i'm only following one person, so far, but it happens from both her and from twitter proper (ie the HELP reply)
thanks for picking it up!

probably you've tried this, but maybe not. go to the first link below and have them email you a new password. if you don't have an email address associated with the account, try the second link.

blackberry pearl shows gibberish when receiving verification codes and twitter updatesMy verizon blackberry pearl shows gibberish when receiving SMS verification codes and twitter updates. I can't access/create my web account (started via phone) because my verification code looks like this (as does the reply from HELP sent to 40404): "...cd@w4]]Pa:{TNr2HF{%\gDvK9li:$rQ^ 4[NfKQJ 0Hg%..." etc...
I recently switched from Sprint to Verizon, and Palm Centro to Blackberry Pearl -- the Centro worked fine. Also, I tested the Pearl with Google's shortcode and it worked fine.
Any ideas?

Can I play m3u or pls files with Miro?I want to play live streaming audio with miro on my Hardy Heron box. WIth xine as the media player, can this be done? If not now, can we get it in a future release?
A comment on the question "Can I listen to Live Internet Radio Broadcasts???" in Participatory Culture Foundation (Miro):
buju -- I absolutely agree! Miro's interface is the best in the biz and would only be better with the addition of live streaming of audio and video. i saw another thread ( http://getsatisfaction.com/participat... ) that promises that miro will be adding a feature to play "streaming only programming" in the 2.0 release. I wonder if this will include LIVE streaming like NPR live online, or any of the other public radio "listen live" options... – arjuna, on August 14, 2008 00:06-
