Jonathan Wong replied on October 27, 2008 14:57 to the question "Is there a way to selectively remove usage data for individual applications?" in Wakoopa:
Thanks Robert, for your quick reply.
I guess applications such as installers and setup programs have minimal value being tracked, since they are only run once during installation and no one will really run it again.
However, I guess the difficult part is how can Wakoopa algorithmically determine whether a piece of software is an installer or not?
This is perhaps where the wisdom of the crowds can help, and you can let users use a quick flag for each software to flag the software as a setup program, and if enough people do it for a particular program, the system will recognize that piece of software as an installer and remove the usage data globally.
Just a thought... ;)

Jonathan Wong reported a problem in Soocial on August 29, 2008 12:24:
My "Connections" screen doesn't get updated after a phone syncI tried to do a phone sync with my Nokia E90 with 268 contacts. I'm not sure whether the process completes or not.
On the phone, I get an "invalid host error" at the end of the sync, but the latest sync time seems to be updated.
On Soocial, the "Connections" page claims that I have not synchronized with my Nokia E90 yet, but when I check my contacts list, my phone contacts seem to be copied over. (I actually sync'ed it a few times, and didn't experience any dupes - Bravo).
Should I worry about the "invalid host error" or the fact that my Connections page is not updated?
BTW, great job characterizing the Nokia E90 as a brick. :)
