Arne replied on November 09, 2009 13:00 to the question "Why are you showing tickets from resellers?" in Songkick:
Hi Emily,
I think the point is that potential songkickers like @actel are easily thwarted if they see these dubious ticketprices. You could consider adding user generated ratings for vendors and the possibilty to add a warning to vendors with bad ratings. For the Netherlands I see many ticketlistings by Worldticketshop which is considered by many to be a fraudulent organisation. I appreciate you want to give fans choices, but if fraudulent resellers have easy access this will reflect badly on Songkick. User generated feedback for ticketing could solve this problem for you.

Songkick looks promising, user generated, last.fm and xml imports, easy editing: http://www.songkick.com

Arne asked a question in iDiDiD Connecting Identities on November 06, 2009 14:00:
Many groups for one venue. Let's merge!I looked up Merleyn, a venue in Nijmegen the Netherlands, and there are SIX groups with more or less accurate information and events.
Here's the list:
http://ididid.eu/groups/186272
http://ididid.eu/groups/259644
http://ididid.eu/groups/259683
http://ididid.eu/groups/279740
http://ididid.eu/groups/157058
http://ididid.eu/groups/132269
This is obviously confusing. I see that this probably originates in the automatised adding of events from other sites such as last.fm, clubjudge, hyves, lom, all resulting in different groups.
A nice solution would be to add an option to merge groups [and events] to avoid duplication. The diferent group names/iD's could be maintained as aliases, so future events will still be added to this group.

Rewind! Vinyl, dj and concert trackingThe biggest part of my musical diet cannot be tracked because vinyl still dominates my listening habits. But what if we connect twones with a Shazam or Midomi like application? I could twone my turntable!
Dj's could share their playlist in real time while dj'ing. So even if you can't make it to the club that night, or you're on a different continent having breakfast, you can still twone in to your favorite dj. Imagine this, you could even have twone-clones, dj's on every continent immediately recreating the star dj's set by following the twoneroll.
It would be great to do the same for bands, twoning their setlists while onstage. The aforementioned apps won't be of much help then. You could consider some sort of crowd sourcing through twitter. Use a band-twone specific hashtag like #twonePomegranates. The audience could twitter the song titles contributing to the twoneroll of Pomegranates.

Alternatives for EventfulI think the Gig Ticket or a different kind of event roll is a very nice feature. But why use Eventful? It's US oriented, incomplete, often incorrect and you can't correct the mistakes.
I guess Last.fm would make more sense to integrate as it has the best concert listings.
BandsinTown.com might be a good candidate for the future.
There might be other alternatives, any ideas?

You're completely right. But tracking could have the positive effect for these services, as did last.fm for mp3, to urge people to get their tags right. – aRNE, on October 14, 2009 10:46-
