@Brian, feel free to file for a refund from Apple if you'd like. I'll even match their refund with a full 3 bucks of my own. – ashponders, on November 20, 2009 20:46

It's still using your key, it's just not putting them in your history. Which is dumb of us. – ashponders, on November 20, 2009 19:09

I'll apologize!
I'm really sorry about this bug, it's been super super frustrating. The fact that it hit only a tiny portion of our users has not lessened the weight I've felt about this. I'm really sorry I couldn't help you in some more real way. – ashponders, on November 20, 2009 19:04

@newton and @Drew. If you feel some how slighted, cheated, ripped off or in any other way diminished. Please email me. I'll refund you your purchase price out of my own pocket. – ashponders, on November 20, 2009 17:51

You obviously but great thought and care in writing this, and I appreciate it.
I take small issue with a few points. The first of course is that I am not a CEO. I'm just the support guy.
Second. I can imagine charging money for an extensive rewrite that actually takes away functionality that existed under previous versions. As far as I can tell, Snow Leopard is surpassed Leopard uptake by nearly two fold.
Third. Loren has historically taken stands on many things. Not all of the stands were popular (RT vs Via). But no real stand has, as far as I know, been taken by the company. I have however expressed my thoughts on the matter, and that seems to have been an issue of confusion.
Loren (the man with all the power, insight, and ability) has been reading along. I'm sure he'll take your thoughts, as well as those of everyone else into consideration. – ashponders, on November 20, 2009 17:48

Please, If I've offended any of you, personally, professionally, in any way at all: I apologize. No offense was intended.
If you feel cheated or ripped off, drop me an email, as I have said several times in these forums, I'll make it right.
I am not now, nor have I ever been anything more than the support guy for atebits. Note that none of my personal options have been marked as "Company answers".

Screwcommon seems to be injecting dubious code into the authentication process. :( – ashponders, on November 20, 2009 17:12

It does make a difference there are several jail break apps that break SSL. This will cause authentication errors. It's quite common :)

@newton. I suppose that's a fair point, Why not just throw it back in?
Simply put, the implementation for ping.fm in the original version was not compatible with Tweetie2.0. Tweetie 2.0 is 100% distinct from Tweetie 1.0.
Another notable feature that didn't make it (apart from PEE) was themes. We received thousands upon thousands of requests for themes to be added back, and we have made them our priority for 2.2.
By comparison we've received less than 200 requests for Ping.fm support. – ashponders, on November 20, 2009 16:53
