I have now been informed by dell that my replacement computer will be delivered on 5 October!!! That is almost 2 months after the problem occured. And there is nothing they are willing to do about it!
Is this how a company treats its business customers??? Especially after paying hundreds of Euros for NBD???
Investors, People and companies - stay away from DELL! Big sham!

And when your technician cannot fix it? And I am promised a new computer and the delivery date is 45 days from today? – assafn, on September 01, 2009 07:37

assafn shared an idea in Dell on August 29, 2009 06:03:
Dell Recommends Windows VistaWhen Vista came out, Dell were one of the first companies to co-market it with Microsoft.
We all know what a joke Vista is (and to some extend still is). So why would the number 1 computer manufacturer recommend something that people would pay to downgrade (from Vista to XP)???
$$$$$ is the answer. That is short term thinking. If the Dell people want me to trust their brand...they have to research their recommendation first. Make sure it really works and only then recommend it. As for now...I cannot trust them anymore. Good news for HP!
So for the future... check before recommending.-

A typical Dell anwer. Now I have to go again through explaining the issue with the computer...
I just want someone from Dell to explain why Next Business Day is not really a Day. Why can't I just get a fix of my problem on the next day as promised by my sales person?
(my personal apologies to Chris - I know you are just working for dell)-

I actually thought of posting a story a day....but then it would take me a year...
First thing you have to do when you call customer care is talk to some call centre in india (where it costs dell only $1 an hour to waste your time). The techie will politely tell you to run a diagnostic test afterwhich (of course it did not find anything) he will ask you to re-install windows and call them afterwards (even Dell does not want to waste $1 an hour installing windows).
Of course, when you call them again after the re-installation, you get another techie who is very happy to run you through the same story again...and if you dare say enough is enough, they just send you to a supervisor who will say that they cannot help but special relations departmetn will call you...(never did).

I have a similar issue. Dell publishes a customer care number but then when you call please:
dial 1 if you are interested in purchasing (how we can get money from you)
dial 2 if you have a technical problem (how do we manage to loose you after 55 minutes of being on hold).
dial 3 if you want to track your order (which basically means you can only talk to a computer)
If you manage to dial 1/2 hoping to talk to a person, the moment they understand this is not about taking more money from you, they will say "let me transfer you to the right department" and then you are back to the same menu (after waiting another 15 minutes of course).
These guys make a living out of wasting our time...-

assafn reported a problem in Dell on August 28, 2009 18:12:
How to get Dell to fix a computer? Trying to navigate the beast's maze of customer care.I have bought an XPS 720 18 months ago and have gone through hell trying to get it to work. Dell tech support were only trying to shove me from one person to the other. 18 months down the road, and I still do not have a fixed computer (even though I have paid hundreds of dollars for next business day support). I understand why HP is gaining market share. But how can I solve my problem? Anyone with ideas on how to get Dell to take responsibility and fix a tech problem their own technicians say needs to be solved?
